who the hell gets killed in a level 4 no one.

You must be new here.

I think it is you who are new here sir. You are implying that allot of ships are lost in level 4s, this is not the case perhaps new mission runners lose a few ships each but they soon learn how to fit their ships to perma tank all missions.

Or are you implying that you are some big bad merc that probes war decks in level 4s. Again just as a idiot is the only one who can die to level 4 rats only a idiot missions while at war without watching local, A hulk on the other hand can be ganked at any time any where in any belt.

If we had the numbers of ships lost while mining vrs the ships lost in level 4s im sure it would blow your mind.

And the same can be said for miners. They lose a few ships initially then they learn to tank or find a quiet system. Its there own fault for gettin ganked over and over. There are more systems than the one you want to mine in. So mission runners are slightly smarter and quicker to tank/move there base of operations. Whats the comparison? Also. You spelled roidkiller wrong.

I find your clarification of their points intriguing and mind boggling. It's just so well articulated. Please provide more detail on your position so we can understand it further.

Okay, you want clarification. Here ya go.

Eve Online is a game where people can escape their real lives and become anything or anyone they like. Either a pirate, an explorer, an industrialist, a miner, a corporate stooge, a spy, a traitor, a jack of all trades as it were, etc etc... you get the idea.

As someone that has been a pirate, a mission runner (agreeing here they are dull as hell), and having just finished running my own solo mining corporation (three accounts), it never ceases to amaze me that there are still players in this game that derive some pleasure from generalizing others down to a lower life form. I mine so therefor I must be a low life. I pirate so therefor I must be a degenerate. I run missions so therefor I must be too afraid of the realities of EVE.

When in truth, I log on after working my ass off at a real life job, as do most everyone on here, and I try and become Mortis vonShadow, Capsuleer for the Khanid Kingdom. I care not if you are an agressive type or a meek type, as long as you don't screw with me or the Khanid Kingdom, we're all good.

But others don't see it that way, and yet, somehow I get the impression they do, and at some point they allow themselves to be enticed into generalizing others down, as previously stated. Is it fair? No. Is it the realities of life, yes. But, if we tell ourselves that because we play EVE Online that somehow we are better than other gamers, because of how complicated EVE is and that we've come to survive it's realities, then allowing ourselves to be enticed to become something that we aren't in reality, well then are we truelly better than other gamers? Probably not.

Before you go and flame me for my opinions lemme give you a little background history of who I am in real life. I'm a 45 yr old male that has been married for 18yrs with two kids. I served six years in the US Marine Corps and am disabled because of it. I don't let things like being disabled slow me down. I have had two other successful businesses that I sold off to now start a restaurant, something I've always wanted to do.

Are my opinions slanted? Probably. But, the last thing I've ever learned to do was degenerate myself down to labelling and name calling. It does nothing but makes you look like a dumbass. Hence why you will see my respond to peoples post as Dumbasses. Ironic that I, too, allow myself to spiral down the rabbit hole and label others, don't you think? This is why I love EVE. She is an exciting and horrifing misteress all at the same time.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

Flame away.

Some days you're the bug, and some days your the windscreen.                   And some days, you're just a man with a gun.

To a point yes however, If some one wants to gank a hulk... they WILL gank a hulk, having player's searching belts with a small gank of destroyers or a BS is not somthing you can defend against.

Yeah i could put trimark rigs and armour in the low slots but that would reduce my incame down to level 2 mission amounts.

Mission runners's worry about npc's with really bad AI that they can perma tank against, I can go afk in a full level 4 with my reppers or booster going for hours witch and be fine = no risk.

You can also go afk in a quiet system belt for hours and mine. its the same thing. Jus one player is shooting npc's and the other is shooting rocks. I think both professions are super boring and need to be spiced up a bit to make them fun to do ,And though ninja's and gankbears do spice it up a bit and make the tasks interesting its being overdone as of late and something needs to change.

Missioners get ganked all the time by players, just like hulks in a belt. So it's pure risk to just undock from station...it's the only riskless area of eve.
