The title more or less says it all - Bughunters are recruiting! You can go to this link to apply

Those of you who attended Fanfest might have noticed us at the Bughunter Recruitment stall, or you might even have had a talk with some of us and seen that we're actually quite nice people, so there's really no excuse not to apply!

Pro-tip: The application is an attempt to gauge both your EVE experience and personality so we can find the people who will be assets to the team, so please write more than just a couple of words if you really want to be considered. Also, to avoid wasting anyone's time (yours or ours), be aware that if you have ever engaged in RMT or any serious EULA violations, you will not be allowed to join ISD. Also, don't tell anyone you have applied of course...


To those who have applied before: Lately we have been getting some questions about the applications people have sent in. The fact is that the application queue is currently empty, so if you applied at any point and didn't receive a reply, either check your spam folder or send a mail to contact@eve-bh.net with your account name and - if you can remember it - approximate application date, and we'll dig out our answer to you from the depths of our systems

Equipment Certification and Anomaly Investigations Division.

ECAID is the volunteer team that works on quality assurance testing and bug hunting for all new patches and expansions. We work closely with CCP´s QA team to ensure that as many bugs and glitches are found and resolved before release dates. We work tirelessly to test all new features and reported issues from the player base, and once verifying a bug we assign them to a defect which is grabbed by the Quality Assurance team and passed on to the appropriate division to be resolved.

Bughunters go through the bug reports sent by players to make sure they have all the information needed, and that bugs haven't already been fixed in test server builds. We then attach bug reports to defects (or create a defect if it doesn't exist) - all similar reports to the same defect of course. This in turn means that QA have more time to spend on actual QA instead of weeding through unusable BRs, BRs missing info, bugs that are already fixed, requests that should have been filed as petitions instead etc.

We also work with QA test new patches and expansions - but everything we do will also be looked at by CCP QA.

Sorry pal. But I do not wish to work together with CCP Goliath, who do not know the fundamental standing mechanics of EVE and closes my bug report with comment: This is a feature request.

Perhaps your QA department should try to play the game and try to follow the instruction to reconstruct the bug. But hell noooooo! I have an 10 years old handbook about EVE where I can not find this specific issue. So I just close this report.

As it is.. If you report more than a wrong description of an implant, you have to wait a long time till someone answers your report and than you have a good chance that it is someone without any clue.

aha, so you're the guys, who respond first to reports, and asking for aditional info while its all there....

This. I wish I could be the one who sifts through them first. I've had a couple of these and its so disheartening every time. don't get me wrong, I haven't done a lot of bughunting in 8 years, but I've had a few petitions. and this is almost a standard response for a player to receive first. like I wrote 5 paragraphs, and that's the answer, I get? seriously?

About how long would it take to get a response? I am guessing it would vary depending on how good the application is, but what is the longest someone would be waiting once an application has been turned in?

Hello, at the time being we have suspended the application processing for ECAID. Those of you that have applied might have to reapply when we start doing recruitment again. You will be told by email if this will be necessary.


We will be making another announcement when recruitment is open again.
