I doubt they will be able to kill Jita.

I'm not worrying, I will still visit Jita. Every time a gank happens, Concord stays on grid for a while. And if lots of people gank, Concord's presence cascades. Making it harder for people to Gank effectively for a set period of time, limiting the total damage done in a set period of time. Then there is the fact that Goons mostly live in USA, so they are only online at certain times. And don't forget the problem of falling security status. Each Goon will only be able to carry out a set number of ganks before they start worrying about their security status and stop.

There are a couple interesting points here.

First, the OP is right in that many of the hi-sec dwellers are inured to Eve at this point. They have lost ships to ganks, ISK to scams, etc. They have endured losses and didn't quit. Ganking them outside of 4-4 will likely elicit a "**** you goons", adaptation, and not much more. I foresee this making the "burn Jita" op an "idle in Jita" flop, except as it is spun within the ranks of goons.

Second, the event itself constitutes goonie tears. The original intent was to celebrate The Mittani's 10k+ votes. Now it has been re-tasked as a "revenge" op for The Mittani's implosion. Will every goonie 'nado come equipped with a hemorrhoid pillow to accommodate the massive butthurt on display? Also, as this is a revenge op, it is an admission by the goonies that they "lost". Goonies were thrashed by a faceless group of players they assert are worthless, meaningless, incompetent carebears by their own assertion. Wow. Well, good luck with your "revenge".

If this entire thing is viewed with objective eyes, The Mittani did himself in, and there is no one to take revenge on, at least not via some in-game pixel rearrangement. If viewed through Goonie eyes, it's Goons 0, Carebears 1, and they somehow have ego to salve via suicide ganking. LOL. So how much ISK damage will it take to make up for the total value of The Mittani's Iceland tickets, hotel room, etc? Seems like it would be a lot. How much makes it 1-1?

How much ISK before Goonies get even with Eve?

Apart from the multitude of 'stop suicide ganking' threads that have suddenly appeared and the endless discussion about what the goons 'burn jita' campaign will bring, brave NPC corp members trying to rally people to stop goons, people scaremongering that people will be unsubbing if this is allowed to proceed, a whole bunch of locked threads, speculation on the effect on the market, conspiracy theories about the real reason behind the campaign, general ranting, tears, eve o forums being stuffed full of talk about this campaign and of course this thread I would say that you are right.

Back to the main topic. Goons and Jita. Just read the link in Jita local and the reason why. After i stopped laughing which was around 5 mins later. I carn't believe how childish it all sounds. Because you banned one of us we will burn Jita. Now i know the Goons are being ran by a bunch of Kids. Look forward to see how this turns out for the Goons. Rather than people backing you they will prob go against you.

The only issue will be New Eden saying this, that and something else.
