This is a cynical half hearted gesture that rings very hollow. You have brought disgrace on the CSM, CCP and the Eve community in general. While I suppose it is "better than nothing" it does not undo the damage you have caused us all. Stepping down entirely is the only way to remove the stain of your poor judgement.

I ask you to look beyond your power mad aspirations and do the right thing for us all: Step down from the CSM so that we can begin the healing process and get some closure. Mainstream gaming media will adore you for it and the players will rejoice. Merely abdicating the Chair is a token gesture that will be viewed with cynicism not from just your detractors, but by everyone who is familiar with who your really are. I am outraged that you think this does anything to address the severity of what you have done to us all.

Instead of this token gesture, if in fact this what you think will atone for what you have done-do something meaningful and quit the the Council completely so that the CSM may once again enjoy the respect of the player base. I urge you to take into account the bigger picture and for once-do the right thing. Your full resignation is the one and only this that will set this right.

Soon in this thread you will see many goonies posting like mad, suggesting there was an NDA breach in CSM6, which of course CCP denied, dont let them turn this into something about ME this is about how Mittani's apology was not sincere, about how he cares nothing for the overall health of Eve, and just shows how empty his apology is.

In B4 1,000 goon alts post support and make laughable accusations about something NDA something that was shown to be untrue and denied by Dev post.

PS This is but a minor defeat for Mittani, but the goonies are going to howl all night. Like music to my ears.

I'm going to enjoy burning your **** to the ground. Mittins has done a lot for this game and for CCP to toss him under a bus like that was unclassy they should at least talked to him about it before hand, shown him some respect like he did to them with monoclegate.

are you that stupid? I mean, this was a PR-bomb, every other politican in his position would have declined his position and even though he has done a lot for EVE, does that apologize his behavior? No i don't think so. Every person earns a second chance but not in a position like this. What would you say if Mr.Obama would do that? He is a representive person, he represents the EVE community...

It's a PR-bomb that got blown out of proportion because no one bothered to look into it with even the depth of a google search and best of all it will be forgotten in 2 days. Now the CSM on the other hand has to serve for a year and if you hadn't notice what mittins did for the CSM during csm 6 was pretty ******* substantial.

And really let us not forget what he did was make a joke a bad one but a joke.

Even if it was a joke, theres absolutely no excuse and as i've already written, yeah Mittani did a lot for EVE when he was in CSM but thats no apologize for this kind of behavior.

PR- BOMB!!!!! You mean that paint chip eater at massively who has a hard-on for goons? Or how this took 5 days to turn into a "thing" clearly running on manufactured drama, NPC Alts, and bitterness?

Everyone who doesn't play Eve read this all as, "Some **** says mean stuff to other nerd at internet spaceship presentation." Their eyes glass over and they forget they read the tagline.

I didn't even show this whole shebang to my out of game nerd friends because its really ******* boring.

Having rootkits secretly installed on customers computers from the new CD's they bought is a "PR BOMB!!!!!!11!" this is IRL forum drama. Shockingly its just as uninteresting and irrelevant to outsiders IRL as it is online.

There has never been an excuse made it's more a debate on how much flagellation is enough and frankly he does enough, hell he's done more then 99% of the people in this thread would have done.

So what, he violated the EULA got sacked for thirty days, a slap at his wrist, people got banned for less. His resignation was his own decision, in lack of a real live occupation he decided for GF on the reasons stated by him. So what.

The first time I run into him I knew by an instant “The Mittani” is only to be brought down by “The Mittani”.

Impression appoved!

Get over it.

o7 Mittani

Great job handling the situation I think.

CCP still needs to take responsibility for not properly moderating the panel as they should have been. its irresponsible for them to place all the blame on one person.

Who are you and why do you think your opinion matters? Mittani actually has a track record of pushing the CSM to do something other than being a lame duck and you're here going on about how you're ashamed of him and talking about hating goons?

YOU and CSM seats like you are why I want Mittani in charge. You've made this about in-game politics and rivalries while he's talking from a personal stand point.

He talked some trash and it happen to catch the public eye. I've seen things 1,000 times worse said in game the only difference is that there were no mic's around and no one cared.

Everyone is totally ignoring the things that's done well. Goon or not.

What this guy said. ^^ Darius is obviously just throwing fuel on the fire to try and further his own "political" career

there are about a million worse things said in EVE every day probably EVERY minute but no one cares cause it doesn't catch the public eye.

At the end of the day its a GAME!!!!! Mittani is not the CEO of some huge company like Microsoft or IBM ect... his a player of a video game (a very cool video game mind you but none the less a game) The fact that this is getting so blown out of proportion.

Everyone is angry at his actions and behavior...... HOW SHOULD HE BEHAVE? I dont know about you but every board meeting i've been to the CEO was not drinking booze at. You cant have it both ways guys. Don't go YAY FANFEST CCP ARE SO COOL, we are all super smashed having a great time then all of a sudden flip out when someone says something that goes a bit to far. What he said was in poor taste yes but he has apologized for it several times If something like this was said at an after party it would not be given a second though.

All it boils down too is other people wanting to make the most of his misfortune.
I don't know The Mittani personally or even in game very well but even though he can be very smug he seems to make for a great leader and to be able to get things done. Im very disappointed he wont be chairman I hope that while not being chairman he is still able to continue making great changes in EVE as a regular member of the CSM.

He isn't chairman of CSM 6 anymore which ends in 6 days and he isn't on CSM 7 at all.

Your exceptional deductive skills never cease to amaze. Instead of celebrating the reelection of The Mittani to the CSM, we'll simply find something else to celebrate in Jita. Either way, the place will burn, and I'll enjoy ever moment of it.

I'm not sure how you think words work, but I find it suspect that a person (particularly a "politician") would distance themselves by making themselves present at every possible moment to make sure that somebody knows what they think about the issue.

This was a "PR Bomb" set up by people with an agenda, sent to an audience with a very well known bias against Mittens. The whole drama was calculated and manufactured to take an event that was totally unheard about until the election results were announced. So, again, any sort of damage done to EVE was part of the "PR Bomb" created by those who considered smearing The Mittani (and Alex himself, going so far as to wish personal ruin on him outside of the game in their rabid hatred of the guy.) There are even those (whose hatred was so great and so great was their fear that the figurehead of all of their rancor might escape the whole false rage fiasco with only minor burns) decided it was worth going to any company even associated with CCP (those associated with the upcoming DUST for example) and throwing the future of the company itself onto the tracks in order to drum up even more outrage over an event that never warranted the attention it got in the first place.

It was/is wholesale artificial witch-hunt and apparently the law is strong in Salem these days. Its a shame that these people so excitedly braying for Mittens's head on a plate considered their own personal hatred over the the future of CCP and the game itself. Shame on all of the band wagoners who helped them to hype up their fiasco.
