In your politically motivated hissy fit you managed to get rid of one of the most successful CSM chairs (regardless of what you think of him) damage the reputation of EVE, and brought even more attention to a man who never wanted any in the first place. Nothing like victimizing a victim to call attention to the initial crime huh?

As an independent guy in game, the one thing I learned from all this was that the goon hatters are just like... no worst than the goons themselves.

Although I got a funny kinda happy feeling y'all just unleashed a monster on yourselves... and you deserve it.

Thank you Taihbea. Simple and elegantly said. A CSM should put the community and game ahead of their buddies, corporation, alliance of coalition. This is why Politicians in come countries are expected to resign leadership positions that are in conflict with their duties as an elected representative of the people. This is a Democratic ideal but a good one that prevents corruption.

Nope. Some Spacekiddy went into Real Life and got hurt in the process.

This has nothing to do with hating the goons but with Real Life decsision made by real persons and consequences that companies decided to take as reaction to prevent damage from their assets. Grow Up!

As a random, awful pubbie who just happened to watch FanFest and follow this whole thing?

I wasn't particularly impressed by The Mittani's presentation. I was somewhat irked by his original statement in the Q&A session. I was satisfied with his apology of both words and actions. I was surprised but understood him choosing to decline the Chair - I didn't vote for him, but I know he did a damn good job with the CSM6. I'd like to see him continue to work with the CSM7 on improving EVE. I'm impressed that The Mittani, in linking it, agreed with what amounted to a very cutting biography of him as a public figure. I greatly disrespect everything Darius III brought to this conversation.

Have fun burning Jita, CFC; I'll keep lowseccing my way through EVE life elsewhere.

This all seems to have gone ridiculously far. Hearing about what was said early on I thought Mittens had gone too far. Watching the video of it I really didn't have a problem with it.

If he had said it about another csm member or an alliance leader would everyone have made such a big deal? It only seems to be a big deal because a pubbie said he was suicidal on the internet.

I don't think any "crime" was committed. Anybody with the audacity to think they can do anything significant to Jita at all earns a tip of my hat.

Only the Privateers have ever been able to do it... and those days and that mechanic are gone.

In B4 1,000 goon alts post support and make laughable accusations about something NDA something that was shown to be untrue and denied by Dev post.

So does this mean people convicted of manslaughter while DUI shouldn't be held accountable for their actions? It's comparable.

Regardless, I think The Mittani made the right move to step down, regardless of what his Goonions think/want. There is always CSM8.
