PI in Crucible, returning player question

Hey there, just returned to EVE after a 18 month break.

Apparently all my PI facilities seem to have vanished for some reason and im looking at my options to restart them.
Question is, after hearing a few things left and right, what has changed?
And what could have happened to my old setups?

I reckon Louis old PI guide isnt up to snuff anymore so I was hoping for a updated guide to use for future setups, and I am also hoping the community could either help me understand the changes and/or point me in the direction of a newer guide.

Awesome thanks, any idea why all my setups vanished though?

I had 5 fully operational PI chains in lowsec and none of them exist anymore.

They shouldn't have vanished - I returned a week ago and all my PI was there (Been away for year or 2).
Altho all the old extractors didn't work anymore I got some isk for each I removed.

You missed out the two major changes:

1) The enormous percentage increase in PI taxes for those who try to continue doing PI in high sec. Although this will not effect the OP as he apparently does PI in low sec.

2) The changes to the Customs Offices and the new POCO's in low & nul sec.

hey,
so i also toyed around with getting back into pi. i already found a nice and quiet lowsec nook where i may be able to set up some P2 production. now there are several questions i have:
- i did not yet check the customs offices at my favourite planets but they are probably player owned. so my question is what is a reasonable tax rate for a low sec office and what is the highest rate i should tolerate?
- I thought about starting with 8 day cycles and reset every 2-3 days. is that an efficient rate in terms of isk/time effort?
- is coolant a valid P2 product or would i get better margins with other (P1 or P2) items?

thanks in advance

As a matter of fact, this impacts the OP tremendously as the "Interbus" owned Customs Offices in low and null-sec charge an even higher tax rate than in high-sec!

Get ready for a ******* shocker of an import and export bill relative to what you have seen in the past. In fact, it is now critical to check market pricing to see if you will break even on whatever you export from planet-side.

Alternatively, find a corp that has their own Player Owned Customs Offices (POCOs) installed on low-sec planets OR buy / make your own and install them for lower tax rates.
