Well it didn't work well for me. Who knows, Mittani is a special person according to the CFC.

My position on the whole thing is quite simple. The Wiz is now aware of the situation and if he wishes so he can petition The Mittani. The result would be a temp ban. I know because I got somebody a 3 day ban that way. (You don't want to know my IP address or where my house is. At least you don't want to tell me that you know in an eve mail.)

So the whole media hype is completely out of proportion and only shows the lack of professionalism of those so called journalists.

At the other hand The Wiz could be generous and accept the public apologise and become a internet spaceship hero. You fancy telling him about his options?

EDIT: FAIK a temp ban would get The Mittani removed from the CSM.

Xython, you are ******* moron.

This is by a massive margin the worst publicity blow for CCP in the history of EVE, and the only one to blame for it is The Mittani. You have to be really thick not to see that.

And you know what? CCP would lose nothing by booting him from the chair. No game company in the world wants this kind of publicity, and if it comes to the choice of replacing the chairman, it's a pretty easy decision between money and a few butthurt goons.

And fwiw, I could have voted for him and still could, it was a drunken joke went bad, but the fact is that it simply looks terrible to outsiders. No trolling, whining or this internal shitstorm can change the amount of damage this caused to EVE's public image.

what did you not see the whole monocle thing? that was way worse.

You realize that when all this settle it could easily be remembered as the biggest meta-gaming battle of power in the history of EVE. Such stories tend to market EVE pretty well.

There is no gaming news in the MMO market right now so this is it. Honestly some of those publications will do anything to push up their page views they'll ignore the facts like many of the people on these forums; because that's how they make money, page views. Tomorrow, it will be forgotten about.

Ever asked yourself the question, was the guy mining botting? Was he himself trolling to get a reaction? He seemed to joke about it recently.

And please stop bad posting.

That would be better, yes.

It's sad if some people want him off the power so badly that they need to hurt the game by making this worse than it is... but those news stories seem present the events as they happened, and tbh it's very ******* bad enough as it is.

I guess the cruical word then is "concerned" and as such wether parents participate in scrutinising influences that might effect their children. Blink

I'm beginning to think step 2 is unlikely unless it comes from CCP. Maybe he just likes chaos, he is a Goon after all, it's what they seem to like.

I wonder if this will hit the BBC news...

The big GHSC heist did as did the creation and election of the first CSM.

It's interesting that a video game player could be embroiled in a political scandal like RL, and face calls to resign.

One word: T20. CCP (and Eve Online) survived the devs themselves cheating at the game.

That's the sad part.

He just got the most votes in eve history, it seemed like he really wanted to improve the game and then he goes and **** everything up.
A vote wasted for everyone who voted him.

And i'm not looking at the joke i'm talking about the: "deal with it".

Bullsh1t. Most parents these days are savvy Internet users and / or have been educated that the online experience needs to be heavily moderated when their kids are involved.

Many parents make the time to look at what video games (and gaming systems) they purchase for their kids to ensure that the material is age-appropriate and, more importantly, appropriate for that specific child.

The hilarious thing? All these sites are citing each other, who are all citing a known anti-Goonswarm troll blog. This is quite literally a manufactured scandal by a bunch of crybabies who can't stand the idea that Mittani got THE BIGGEST MANDATE IN EVE HISTORY.

In short:

You mad, pubbie? It sounds like you're mad. Definitely could be mad.

Mad ... no, this pubbie is amused. Seems it's all really bad when you get out meta-gamed.

If the entire story is put out
The time from election to scandal to resignation and resolution

Then its good plubicilty

If only the scandal part was put out and they leave off the resolution
Then bad plubicity.

Very easily solved: cut out the middleman/parents. Dust is free. Yes, a parent could spy and search through the kids installed PS3 games but since it's free it's quite easy to re download. just saying...
