Eh. There's nothing wrong with thinking different, but telling you your idea (to be generous) has holes or (to be abrasive) is bad does not constitute fascism. I don't like the idea and I've stated why. If you'd like to actually address the critiques rather than dismiss them, please do. For the time being, I don't see a well-argued reason behind either providing baseline fits sanctioned by CCP and I see reasons not to award such fits as suggested in your OP.

This is a sandbox. You are free to and even encouraged to find fittings and styles that work for you. I don't want a theme park MMO. For a Punisher, an Amarrr ship, the base fit should have small lasers, probably pulse lasers.
Of course all ships can be fitted many ways.
But the base fit should be fittable if you have only the recomended certificates with no need of other skills.

It is perharps my bad english, but if you do not understand the difference between a base fit and a good fit, there is a problem.

I did not say I do not like Eve. I Just think it is possible to make it better.
And if you thought just a second you would see that the fact each ship could have a base fit based on its first role and on the skills recommanded is just logic that change nothing about the fact you could create a better fit more adpated on your purpose and your skills...



Your idea takes away freedom. It imposes a standard of fitting on people. It tells new players "This is how a ship should be fit, no other is acceptable." Your idea stifles innovation. Eve is all about doing things differently. I oppose all ideas that would tell me how I SHOULD be playing the game. Giving a base fit would do just that.

For the majority of Eve Players the time spent in game is 3 months or less. In time these base fits would be seen as gospel and would influence fitting decisions. That is why I think they are bad.


I hope people is smarter than that. I think you are right for newcommers but with time they will gain enough knowledge to make their own choices.
They will have to upgrade the base fit . When they will have enough skills and isk, they will find more powerful options.

I Wrote that because of the "If you don't like the actual system, you should quit".

With such thinking nothing would change.

People are not smarter than that. That is why you find faction-fit Drakes running L4 missions. More ISK means they just keep doing the same dumb thing at a heftier price.

Necessity is the mother of invention. If you give people solutions on a silver platter, they will continue to expect them on a silver platter forever. It is against the HTFU nature of Eve to give things like fits away for free to people who don't even understand how the fits work.
