Hello, i bought EVE last Friday when it was on sale, now that i have played through the weekend i have to say that i absolutely love it! I've tried to get into EVE many times in the past years but i was never able to get beyond first hours because of the almost nonexistent tutorial that didn't really explain anything, but now i was able to get in and found a really great and friendly corporation to go with it!

I have couple of questions.

1. Is there any hazards other than players and hostile npcs?

2 .Is there cockpit view or interior view planned? I would love to walk around my ship or at least a small portion of it.

3. I'm curious about building planetary infrastructure, how does that work exactly? Is it "fun"?

I know i would find answers for my questions if i'd search for them enough, but i will rather ask these from the community.

Also is there a place where i can see what is planned for the future updates and expansions?

EVE is a great game. We all hope you're having fun with it.

1, The players more so than the NPCs, but yeah that sums up the dangers of EVE. Different areas of space have either relaxed rules where people can violence you, or harder NPCs

2. Not likely. The avatar engine is made by another team who just had a sizable amount of their staff cut. Not to mention its horridly optimized and was never meant to be for EVE in the first place

3. PI can be fun to setup, but its remarkably shallow and in safe regions of the game, pays very little for your effort.

First, welcome to EVE. It is an amazing game.

1. EVE is all about the players. Yea you have to watch out for NPC, depending on where you are, but the players are the real villians (or heroes) in this game. This is a player run universe.

2. No cockpit view. None planned I dont believe.

3. PI is pretty cool during the initial set up, but as someone just said, to make it worth your while, you need to do it in hostile space.

Glad you are liking EVE man...Its the best game I've ever played.

1. do not underestimate the players of this game . same goes for the npc's a lil bit of research in to region and missions your messing about in can save you a lot of isk.

2. somewhat discussed but nothing from the devs im sure its been thought about but im sure the art department buried that guy along time ago.

3. P.I. erm ... well it can be fun (if you kinda like farmvile) it can make you some money but you really need to learn the p.i. market its worse than the sudanese stock market . http://wiki.eveuniversity.org/w/index.php?title=Planetary_Interaction

Oh yeah, i almost forgot welcome to eve . Happy Hunting :)

The only thing dangerous in this game are other players. If this was a one player game you would

A. be able to go anywhere in the entire universe

B. Be pretty bored pretty quickly

C. Even if you were a lone wolf you would get bored without other players

Thanks for the help

The devs. And Hilmar's beard.

You pilot your ship from a pod.

It is really fun. If you like watching paint dry, you will love planetary interaction!

That is mighty white of you.

in some missions, space itself does damage to you, make sure you google "eve survival guide" for each mission you do

2 .Is there cockpit view or interior view planned? I would love to walk around my ship or at least a small portion of it.
probably not.

3. I'm curious about building planetary infrastructure, how does that work exactly? Is it "fun"?
honestly its basically as fun as farmville.
you place a control center on a planet, then upgrade the control center pending your skills
you use extractors and factories to make stuff, and launch pads and storage facilities to store stuff.
i would Google Eve online PI tutorial for more info on it.

I know i would find answers for my questions if i'd search for them enough, but i will rather ask these from the community.

most future updates are not fully known until a few days before the expansion or patch. however there are many "this is how we see eve in 20 years" kinda videos and stuff.
http://community.eveonline.com/en/inferno/ this is really all we have on the next patch to go on.

1. Yes there are, no not yet.
2. No, not planned or on the table for quite a while.
3. Yes can be fun if you do it in places or at times when it's not logical to be doing it.

welcome to eve. i hope you continue to like it and not take everything to serious.

You go your corridor but.

Welcome can be a handshake or a gunshot at short range. Both may work depending on your view.

also keep in mind that if you screw up, you will get (roughly):

pity from 1% of EVE
a resounding HTFU (Harden The **** Up) from 30% of the population
Go Back To WoW from 30% of the population
Laughed at by the rest of the population.

or a mix of the last three.

EVE has arguably the best and worst community. there will generally be someone there to help you along, but there will ALWAYS be a crowd to point out your mistakes.

Also, EVE has developed a pseudo-villain, depending on your point of view. his name is The Mittani, and he's the leader of Goonswarm. One of those people you generally either hate or you love.

Well there is a mission called recon that will blow yo up from a gas cloud. Wormholes will close behind you leaving you no way out. A particularly rare asteroid will give off a hazardous gas. you might get stuck in a hollow asteroid, there are market scams which are from people but kind of a non violent hazard. Huge pieces of your life may disappear, your girlfriend will leave you, accomplishments in real life will become unimportant as you pursue goals you wouldn't even dream of in real life. Credit card fraud and account hacking doesn't happen often but the temptation to purchase dozens of alts and these gold cards called plexes are a clear and present danger. Some people stoop to real life stealing of credit cards to buy their dreams instead of build them. Peoples computers have been known to catch fire while looking at themselves in the mirror in the station. Epileptics have been known to have seizures and grown men have required therapy to avoid harming themselves.

So yeah, EVE is more dangerous than you think.

Welcome to Eve, it is the best game I have ever played. The community is a wonderful thing here and they will show you the best and worst that humanity has to offer. Just a few things to remember.

-This is a multiplayer game, your story is your own but you share it with the people you associate with.
-Don't worry about losing ships, they can always be replaced. Incedentally, never fly what you can't afford to lose.
-Be aware of your surroundings, nowhere is safe in New Eden.
-If you make a mistake, learn and adapt; don't expect the other players to have sympathy for you.

Again welcome to Eve and I hope to see you soon.

MMOs come and go, but Eve remains.  -Garresh-
