It just bleeds Irony...

Reid gives his speach about how the players mold the game and cause their own scandals and happenings...then fittingly, a Scandal evolves within hours that completely enthralls the community.

You couldn't have written a better script than the Irony that has played out since Reid and Mittens descended on FanFest 2012

let's pretend hypothetically (not meant to be offensive in anyway) that the player Kyle Yanowski is owned by
a Mr. Roger Smith, an accountant 35 years old, married with 2 children living in London.

now would it be just as offensive if I, player name Taiwanistan, spouted offensive slander against the player name Kyle Yanowski, as if I slandered against Mr. Roger Smith the real person?

if so half the players of eve might as well be all perma banned.

You guys really take the eve art of war to heart, and in the process, lose you sense of reality. I wonder, as the goon pr team starts to spin articles and postings, do you believe your own bullshit?

I'll give you that, but I think you are wasting your time. Massively staffers are more credible than any goon; whether or not that is a true statement, doesn't matter, perception vs reality.

This is a good illustration of the concept that I call, The Goon's Burden, the God given task of creating player content, in form of strife, drama and conflict, tales that resound throughout the gaming industry. People ask, what is this EVE Online game? How I remember the day when I paid my 500m and was sworn into the Swarm, my recruiting officer asked, can you bear the burden? It is only today I do dare to answer with conviction, Yes.

While you weeptards google up internet laws, whine, claim morality this and that, ask yourselves, what have you done for the game? What is your worth to the game, in your 3 alt vanity 0% tax corps, your shitposting npc corp forum alt, your gaming activities nothing but a mindless grind towards your next monthly plex.

Take up the Goon's burden

In patience to abide

To veil the threat of terror

And check the show of pride;

By open speech and simple

An hundred times made plain

To seek another’s profit

And work another’s gain

Take up the Goon’s burden—

And reap his old reward:

The blame of those ye better

The hate of those ye guard—

The cry of hosts ye humour

Again, it was Eurogamer that said he gave out the guy's real name etc. As a matter of fact, Massively was the first (and maybe only) news outlet that actually watched the panel and posted exact quotes on what was said. Every other site rushed to get the breaking news out and posted quotes from the Kestrel email complaining about the event. We were sent the same email and I refused to publish the story until I saw proof and could quote it.

As a result, all the major blogs beat us to the story but they all published parts of a second-hand report that may have been cooked up by someone with a grudge. We at least found and investigated the primary evidence. It really is quite silly that anyone would call out the accuracy of Massively's news posts on the issue and ignore the dozens of far worse posts on far bigger blogs posted several hours earlier.

Please OP answer this, are the Goons roleplayers or not? I read a post on Ten Ton Hammer I believe where the Mittani spoke about Kartoon being a roleplayer and thus not fitting the goon culture. You guys really sound like roleplayers. The hellish hordes of nullsec. No problem with that but if you are a roleplaying alliance it might make roleplaying more acceptable for more players thus creating more player driven content. Win. Win.

Also you are not the only alliance to create player driven content. Anytime a corp or alliance finds stuff for their players to do they are creating content. The Goons do awesome stuff but please get down off the cross, we have others we need it for.

If you want to get technical, My $15 dollars a month per account is the same as your $15 dollars a month per account so I am doing the exact same for the game as you and any other player.

What I have done for the game is allow content and updates to keep being rolled out to the player base, just as that is what you and every other person who pays for an active sub in EVE is doing.

Sorry to bust your bubble but your money is not worth more to CCP then our money is. Goon money is the same as every other players money.

So that is what we are doing to the game. Hope that answers your stupid question.

Goons are not a roleplaying community however they have a heightened sense of melodrama, as a sense of personal stake in the outcomes of conflicts increases fleet turnout for otherwise boring, hellish unfun grinds in nullsec. Sometimes the overexaggerated dramatics borders on roleplaying, like Kartoon's jihad or Taiwanistan's gay poem here - but on the whole they are not a roleplaying alliance even though they are led by an effete larper (lol).

No even better , he is talking about being relevant .... in a game.Ah well at least he's relevant in his little pixel world , if that pleases him then sure.

Goons didn't just become BOB with thinking how the game evolves around them and how awsome they are , they overtopped BOB by miles.

EVE IS SERIOUS BUSINESSSSssss
