As long as it is kept in the game. Mittens asked for game actions to happen to get the guy to kill himself in real life. He did not say this on some private forum, or even just here on eve-o. He said this during a live web stream, in front of hundreds of neckbeards at the main CCP event they have once a year.

You guys really, really need to stop defending his actions. This has nothing to do with your terrible forever war in null. So stop making it that way. I bet you any amount of ISK if that was Sir Molle up there and he said all of that, you would be going absolute ape **** over it and demanding CCP take action immediately.

You suck at history.

People have threatened goons, and there families many times IRL. ****, your example litterally happened, Molle did say he wanted all goons who showed up to his BBQ to die. In real life.

****, read this thread you will see people threaten goons.

Generally they laugh it off. After all the internet is serious business. I think the founder of the website proclaimed himself the "King of e-Threats" for the number of death threats he has received.

Edit: Actual link, I was off on the quote: http://www.somethingawful.com/d/hogosphere/internet-death-threat.php

The problem is not that he did this on the forums or in-game, the problem is he did this at Fanfest (IRL) while holding the banner of CSM President, making him the main voice of the community and the player voice of CCP. You really can't defend this sort of behavior and he ought to be banned like any normal player would be if they pulled something like this.

No he didn't tbh, this was done at the Alliance panel while holding the banner of a WIZARD.

You do realize he's just resigning the chair right?

And that he can only do so on the suffrage of the other CSM members?

Interesting, and how would the rest of the CSM determine that if some wanted him to resign the chair and some did not? A vote of 'No Confidence'? A recall election?

If he does resign the Chair (which I don't think he should do) then what will that do to stem the calls for his head? Those with an agenda or an axe to grind will not be satisfied with that, they will just start calling for his permabanning, or claim that he is just passing the Chair to an ally or something. Then after that it will be calling for the dissolution and banning of the Goons, or something like that.

That is the problem with mobs, they are never satisfied.

I think it should be CCPs call, myself, and that they should look at this in its entirety and have a dialogue with both Mittani and The Wis, and go from there.

Can anyone confirm this? I had thought it was supposed to be unfiltered. If this is true, this entire PR fiasco was CCP's fault for allowing that to go through, not Mittani's.

Pretty sure this was already confirmed.

But the comment in question was an off the cuff drunken comment by Dear Leader, not part of the slides.

I guess Mittani, as young and probably not very experienced man, learned an important lesson: in real life, one must be ready to take consequences for what he has done. Apology is fine (even if not sincere) but it's not enough because damage done to this community and CCP's public image is serious.

Sorry to say that, but he must resign from CSM. It's the only way to fix this crap.

Sorry Mittani, but as Chair CSM this is too much. As head of Goonswarm I don't give a crap what you do, but when you represent the player base like this, it's time for you to move on.

Having yourself voted as chair because you have the largest alliance in the game shouldn't be considered any type of acheivement and maybe if your being Alex Gianturco for once, you should think about whether you are the right person to lead the CSM, when you are essentially elected via brute force......

When are you ever not elected by brute force? Ugh

Actually he was doing it as the head of his alliance. The CSM panel was during another point in the day.

EDIT: And if you assume that the person must be married to that title at all times and is unable to break themselves from it then it would be impossible for anyone in alliance leadership (the most informed about most nullsec and I'd immagine W-space etc issues) to be members of the CSM without tainting the entire process.

Hi, where is this purported damage located? Can you point it out to me? Don't link a bunch of half-baked articles on mediocre gaming e-zines, either.

Also explain to me how his resignation does anything to repair this (made up) damage or do anything except further the goals of goon-haters who are seething mad that he got chairman again.

The condeming evidence that doesn't allow Mittens to pull the 'I was drunk' card is the fact that he had the slide, etc organised prior to FF, which makes the comments a pre-meditated act.

From CCP's perspective I don't see how they can come to any other conclusion from their investigation other than the Mittani had pre-organised to make the comments that he did. And any media outlet is going to burn CCP at the stake if they ignore this fact in their PR damage control.

This can not be quoted enough.
