To be honest, this does not surprise me at all. You had a few drinks and the real you bled through. This guy took time off from work, bought a plane ticket to Iceland, with all sorts of exectations of fun and celebration to be had with his fellow EVE pilots....P

Instead he left having been made fun of by you infront of thousands of people streamed around the world. Thats an awesome memory to carry around with you for life......Ugh

If you goons are looking for someone to kill, this is my main, and i lose ships all the time. Don't even care about it.

Docked in Rens at the moment. So if you send 2 or 3 guys down i can let them blow up a couple ships i have. That should be fun for you.

Actually, AA has an abhorrent success rate: 3-5%! It actually has a success rate so low that one is tempted to think maybe it HINDERS recovery. Random selection of people that just decide on their own to stop the bullshit should do better than AA does.

This shouldn't really surprise anyone. It's an ad-hoc, religiously "revealed" recovery program without one shred of scientific influence. Seriously. One dude decided his world was being ruined by alcohol and prayed for a path to recovery...the 12 step program is it. It works as well as one would expect from such. His name was Bill and that's where the "friend of Bill" expression comes from.

If you really have a problem that you need to solve, be it with substance abuse or any other health concern...go seek help from people who've been trained to help you. See a doctor and/or psychologist. Don't go to a church wrapped up as a "recovery program".

I'm sorry. This thread has nothing to do with AA except for these assholes who think they can diagnose someone with alcoholism over a ******* youtube video. That **** just really gets to me. Perhaps one could study the apparent correlation between "recovering alcoholic" and "self-important wanker" and see if there's some sort of causal relationship there.

You have to understand, this apology is coming from the same person who runs an alliance that literally finds most of their fun in screwing with people. It's a LITTLE hard to take this apology at face value.

I'd still have to say that I think you should step down as chairman, Mittens. The only way that an apology from a goon can be considered heartfelt and honest is with a gesture as big as that...

The best part about this thread is all the people equating sticks and stones to a mortal sin when this game has always been about theft, subterfuge, murder, destruction, and all sorts of other wonderful terms that make the original event pale in comparison.

Just what game have all of you been playing all this time? Do you even have time to get anything done, or are you just filing petitions the whole time you're online?

To be surprised that someone does something against the grain is just.... well.... I can't think of a better word than stupid. I tried, I really did!

Can show you email that arrived during the 2008 CSM 1 election campaign that was printed out by my project manager of the time. It comes from a random hotmail account that could be anyone but references my name, links to a website that purports to be owned by me but isn't, and claims I'm working as a cyber postitute and will bring disrepute to any company I work for.

Back then I listed my contract details on a public website where the contact details of my client were presumably lifted from. The content of the mail references a campaign the goons were actively engaged on (character assassination during CSM 1) and coincided with Darius's bid for CSM chair and Mittani as Goon Fleet Intellience.

I considered at the time it was an attempt to gain CSM electoral advantage by trying to bully me via the rl approach to my employers and effort to damage a professional reputation.

Can I prove it came from Mittani ? Nope. Anyone can make up a hotmail account. Was it a strange coincidence that various goon posters were referencing the website purported to be mine on the eve online harrassment campaign as is linked in the email ... sure it is. Are goons today still going on about the same thing - yep, whenever they start losing an argument mainly.

Now, I didn't really care that much - I'm pretty thick skinned and my clients thought it was hilarious. But I can see how this would count as out of game harrassment and a form of bullying to some. At he time I discussed it with CCP but they obviously had nothing to work on either - anonymous emails are anonymous.

But it does show how far *somebody* is prepared to go inside goonswarm.
