EVE Online, years from now.

What do you expect EVE to be in the future, say, five, ten, fifteen years from now? Will people even still be playing it? What new features will EVE have? I know it's hard to tell but give your best guess, humourous or serious.

Assuming the game is still being played, I assume that by five years DUST will have fully intergrated with EVE. It's hard to tell what that would change because we don't know much about DUST, but I assume it will change the economy and gameplay mechanics by a lot. 'Walking in Stations' would probably be working by then. Perhaps our quarters by then will be more like quarters, maybe even offices and other in-station buildings we can visit or rent. Perhaps by then our ships crew will have a bigger impact on gameplay as well. We could possibly even visit our PI buildings.

Ten years, even bigger things. If it was not already put in, we'll be walking inside of our own ships. We'll have a greatly wider selection of ships to fly. Orbital strike and command ships, boarding party vessels, maybe something even bigger and more unique than the Titan, if that's even possible. If the population grows enough we'll have to widen our map a bit.

Fifteen years from now, if my thoughts on the matter are correct, the capsuleer population will be large enough to warrent a seperate server, connected to a completly different star cluster. Maybe it would be the Milky Way? Would we get the EVE Gate working again, or find another one like it? Either that or nobody would be playing anymore. Also, depending on how much our technology increases and how affordable it would be, we'll have a different interface besides our normal keyboard, mouse and screen.

That's enough for now. Excuse any spelling mistakes I might have made. Your thoughts?

(maybe I was a little too optimistic in these ideas.)

Within 5 years all 0.0 alliances will require all characters to have a monocle, as it will be the pinnacle of status symbols for capsuleers.

Jobs will been axed at CCP as their only means of a income will continue to decrease the coming year and a result, Dust 514 and World of Darkness is put on a indefinite hold.

On a serious note though, I have always wanted to see the EVE Gate to the milky way reopened.

The Jovians come back....but we find out it's really the bad guys from Freespace....and the titan is now frigate sized, and everyone is tooling around in Dyson Spheres.

Oh yeah....and they finally give up on Ambulation because CCP figures that pod pilots really only need their brains to fly spaceships. Therefore, all pods have been reduced to the size of a large microwave oven.

Years from now? A blog about some possible new t3's in a few years after that?

10 years from now? Hmm. The other racial captain's quarters are added. EvE players quit in rage as they realize their 64 core video cards can't handle the processing requirements. Two weeks later, players are provided a much nicer door to look at as an apology.

I think in 10 years our video cards will be good enough to handle a small room.

Some one mentioned the milky way on an earli post. The map is already linked to the milky way. Polaris, the gm system. The star Polaris is the north star, i think

Players will actually be flying ships via capsule.

They will still complain.

Gameplay styles in the game will no doubt have shifted dramatically, as most things that get done in the game will need to be able to fit into the brief windows of uptime and be accomplished despite the continually destabilizing user interface.

10 years from now there will be T3 Frigates.

Maybe.
