You're the guy who thinks he's a ninja because he has a katana and 20 years of martial arts training.

No Katana no

Don't know ninjutsu either

But thanks for the free publicity

IMO this incident reflects very poorly on CCP. CCP holds up the CSM as a crowning achievement in the MMORPG and gaming world overall. They heavily market this body as representative of the players, by the players and speaking for the players. Broadcasting the Chairman of the CSM as he incites someone to commit suicide in such a public manner, does more harm to their brand than any neglect of spaceship in lieu of avatars could have ever done.

I don’t care to quibble over morals and rules. Players can act however they wish within the confines of their own forums and comms. It’s interesting to note that this type of behavior would be immediately locked were it to take place on the EVE Forums; and bans would most certainly be expected. How someone or a group can get away with this on a live feed being broadcasted by CCP in front of thousands of existing and potential players astounds me.

CCP should understand that inaction on this issue will be seen as an approval, if not a full-blown endorsement of this type of behavior.

You people have forgotten what game you're playing.

And you little Jr Goon, have forgotten this is a game, just how far should it extend into the real world?

If you honestly think it's ok to give out a person's real name, to screw with them, regardless of their personal situation, then you truely belong with the Goons...Cool

He never gave out the person's real name. He mentioned the character name only.

to be honest, the fact this happened within the context of Eve-Online makes no difference at all. If someone is expressing those feelings, it's never OK to keep kicking them - regardless of wether you believe them or not. I don't think Mittens should be banned or anything though - but he should apologise sincerely and personally to the guy involved. I think this was just an example of eve-group-mentality taken too far, and I'd hope those involved feel & show some remorse.
