The thing is it dosent matter if you love mittens or hate him, (personally I dont know him other than he is a goon and I dislike goons) , what he did was at the least very poor taste.
People tend to be very aggressive and abusive towards other players in this game and I find it kind of sad.

At the same time I do think people are over reacting just a little. However the only persons opinion that REALLY counts is the guy with the suicidal thought problems.

Either way CCP should not condone anything like this.

welcome to eve online where alts are encouraged. And honestly if they made us go down to 1 account per player i would quit. I have accounts that do almost every aspect of this game and losing all but 1 wouldnt be worth continuing to play.


As a side note i didnt vote with any of my 9 accounts

Best argument I've heard. People have been banned for less, just cause your chairman shouldnt save your ass if you **** up. If anyone would get banned or booted for this EVERYONE should get the same!

I know ISD != CCP but I would assume the decision to post a news article onto eveonline.com rests with someone in CCP.

Reading that article, I am astounded that someone thought it appropriate to dress this up as an in-game RP style news article and thought CCP would have the sense to keep a comfortable distance from Mittens' statement rather than thinking it was a good idea to post it verbatim, including the character's name and dress it up as something that's ingame and therefore ok, rather than a grown man telling thousands of viewers of a video stream to hunt someone down and encourage him to kill himself.

CCP, I would strongly suggest removing this news article and posting something a bit more objective.

There has been speculation that The Wis is actually an alt of The Mittani. Why he would do this, who knows, but I suppose he'd have to have some genius master plan in order to make any good come out of this clusterfuck.

The Wis himself has been posting in Jita local a repeated message stating that The Mittani has personally apologized to him and gave him 10.7 billion ISK.

Would have to be one serious master plan. This is an issue outside of the eve universe now, and if has negative repurcussions for ccp, don't think that any in eve master plan will work.

Though he was the victim in the incident. It was not about just him.

Its about everyone and every player that will come later. Advocating a lynch mod to hound and harass someone from the bully pulpit of fan fast by a CSM chair to the point of death can not be tolerated no matter whom they are.

If he was a man he would have already stepped down.

Its about the players that will come later, and the other players we will interact with on dust etc. You cant grow a game with the reputation that some jack ass can order a bunch of people to harass them to the point of suicide.

CCP and SONY (dust) both know this. If they don't act there is going to a big door open to lawsuits if anyone playing this game hurts themselves over what someone does to them in this game.

Worse was that he didnt do this in game, he did it IRL at fanfest.

Basically the line was reached and crossed on how far you can go with grieving others in eve. And an example needs to be made. Especially that no matter whom you are you are not above the law with regards to EULA especially.
