If Mittens gave out the guy's personal information and encouraged people to harass him in real life, then I have no problem with CCP banning him. I saw it, but I didn't hear the guy's name (wasn't listening to it carefully). So I'm just going by what people are saying.

He went too far and he's not off limits for punishment.

No personal info was given and a (bad) joke was made when someone requested the in game name. If anyone is stupid enough to acctually send mails to the guy then they are the ones who should be banned.

This is a whole lotta fuss over nothing.

Not quite as bad, but encouraging people to try to get someone to commit suicide probably isn't going to go unpunished, and I don't think it should. Maybe you don't ban him from the game, but boot him from the CSM and from future Fanfest events.

No one should be surprised if Mittens turns out to be his own downfall. I predicted that when he first joined the CSM. People like him always let perceived influence get to their heads, feel invulnerable, go too far and crash in flames.

Now that the story has legs, I think the likelihood that Mittens escapes punishment of some sort is about zero regardless of anyone's opinion though.

He still acted wrongly by inviting other players to contact him and further harass. He could have left it at a joke by not doing this and it would have been amusing, tears usually are. By giving others the means to continue the ridicule he made a bad decision. What happens is up to CCP but it does look bad for them now unfortunately.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

What he did was just plain wrong. Even if suicide threats wasn't involved, what he did was just plain wrong. There are no two ways about.

And this really makes CCP look bad, even though it is not their fault. And all their options suck. They can punish Mittani, witch they should, risking having thousand of goons on their back. Or they can ignore it, and risk having a potential public relations disaster on they hands. Mittani has simply put CCP in a bad situation.

Mittani could easily remedy this and put an end to it by simply appoligizing. A simple statement like for example "Im sorry, i had a bit to much to drink. My comments at the Alliance Panel where unappropiate and out of order." Not

Last i heard Scamming people was part of this game. CCP encourages it.

Goons Scam 80 Billion from an idiot that was trying to scam a similar amount from blues and his own alliance.


Said idiot got counter scammed and basically raped .
