Hi I'm having trouble with my launcher when I installed this game. I just started 2 days ago and when I first downloaded this game I had an issue with the game not being able to patch.

Following that I read the forums and tried repairing my game using the repair.exe however the tool just kept relooping itself every single time.

I then proceeded to download the whole installer now from this website (the previous one was from steam) and installed the game manually when the installer told me it could not automatically download the files.

Having done that I tried to play the game only to have a pop up telling me that windows could not run a 16 bit file in a 64 bit environment. I then tried launching the game through the exe file in the Bin folder, this allowed me to play the game which I've been doing for the last 2 days.

The thing is once the game gets updated I'm worried I'll have to re-download the whole thing again just to avoid this issue.

Could some one please help me with this?

I'm running a computer with McAfee anti virus, not the ESET one that is listed in the workaround post. I've disabled all my anti virus programs even my firewalls and nothing fixed the issue.

The launcher utterly fails on my machine as well. The timeline for me went like this...

When the launcher first came out, it went fine, launcher installed, updated itself and the game launched ok.

On the first patch after that, the launcher failed to update. It was looping at the 25% mark as has been explained in several other threads, repair couldn't fix it. I reinstalled the whole client, after that the launcher updated itself and the game launched ok.

Next patch broke the launcher again, same looping, repair failed to fix it, full client reinstall failed (I even deleted the game and all user settings and installed to a new directory) so I had to do the offline install with the payload files. And, of course the launcher install failed so I have to launch from the bin directory with the eve.exe file, the client runs ok from there.

I followed the various threads on workarounds, disabled FW and AV stuff, deleted cache & settings, ran as admin etc etc...I'm too lazy to type in an exhaustive list of make work crap I tried to resolve this with.

So now the only way for me to run eve is from bin/eve.exe directly, when a new patch comes I get to manually do offline install every time I suppose Evil

I use several programs that do online updating, world of tanks for instance, why does eve need to suck at this method of updating? I've seen some suggestions around contacting your ISP and/or fooling around with router guts, why would I have to go and do that? CCP, my machine is fine, ready to grab bits from the internet all day long, I have several games that update successfully every time I boot them up, FIX YOUR UPDATER CCP.
