A blast as always. My only regret is that I didn't get to hang out with all my space bros as much as I wanted to. It all seemed to go by so fast! I look forward to the next time, friends.

My first Fanfest, it was a truly epic journey. Nothing compares to meeting the people who play and the people who make the game you love.

Big shoutout to the GM whose name I can't spell but know it sounds like reindeer, GM Alvaldi, Amy, CCP Punkturis and CCP Guard for being so awesome. Hope to see you all next year!

If you're gonna post here thinking your idea is the greatest thing since bacon and that it will save EVE and possibly all humankind with it, you're gonna have a bad time.

It was good to watch Fanfest this year. Maybe next year will be the year the stars will align properly and I can visit Iceland.

The final trailer was very cool. Would CCP ever be willing to sell the tools needed to a 3rd party so we could get some really, really good machinima from a dedicated fan? And/or about how long did that video take to make in time and how much effort would a full 60-150 minute movie be? Cause that would be awesome! I would pay good money to see that. Say 10-30 dollars.

Wow.

What a week. Thank you to every single one of our players who came to Iceland, watched us on EVE TV or simply played the game and had some fun. You made it an amazing Fanfest and it was great to talk to so many of you. Your words, thoughts and comments are the things which help us shape the world we are making for you and your commitment to us means a huge amount.

And thank you to every single person within CCP who helped make this a truly unforgettable time. It has been a tough 12 months and I think Fanfest 2012 has helped us draw a line, move on and really aspire to do great things.

And for those of you who thought this was good, EVE 10th anniversary Fanfest next year. Who would miss it?

Thank you all.

Truly sparkling Fanfest this year!
Was great to have so many (some random) chats with the players.

Although, this is the first moment back at my desk and after that whirlwind weekend, I have a problem....

I have no idea what I do now.

Quite simply my favourite fanfest ever. Meeting so many players, old friends and new, was tremendously inspirational. Thank you to everyone who travelled here and to everyone who help make it happen. We have the greatest, craziest, most-passionate and best-dressed community in the world, and I love you all!
How on earth are we going to top this in 2013? Time to start planning already, I reckon.

Thank you all for coming to Fanfest. Seeing your reactions to some of the reveals we made was amazing and has really inspired me.

As phrased in the style of HAM:

We are fanfest.
You are fanfest.
We are all fanfest.

Couldn't have done it with out you all. Thanks so much! See you all again next year.

Thank you guys, this was an incredibly awesome experience. Before FF, i was quite worried about DUST ******* up with EVE but CCP made me really comfortable about integration of DUST into the EVE universe. Although i am absolutely contra console-playing and FPS in particular for myself, i have to admit DUST is quite a cool game. Before FF, i was very sceptical about the market for a console game like DUST, cause console gaming tend to be a short term thing, which does not match very well with the looooong term objectives of the EVE MMO. Now, i realized that you guys intent to create this market from scratch with a game unseen yet in the exisiting FPS market. I truely wish all the best for this. Big smile

One part aside from CCPs Fanfest content, that i did not expect, was to team up with so many people, i usually shoot at ingame. That was really fun.

Since i had no time in participating the Fanfest Improvement round table, i have some comments for improvement

1.) pre and post fanfest dedicated temporary forums. Some of them strictly for attendees, most of them read-only for the non-attendees and full rights for attendees. Like 2 weeks before a forum, where people can share their experience from prior FFs, not just about the CCP event, but about iceland per se. Where they can plan meetings & events aside from the FF. Post FF a forum with a thread on each event item of the fanfest. Both should of course not be open for eternity, but i like to see follow-ups on the forum and sort of preserve this very special enviroment of Fanfest for a little while.

2.) we need to have a partnering tool to meet up with people !!! It is so hard to find somebody specific, you met the day before, if there is 5000 of us roaming around.

For next year i envision EVE apps for our mobile phones, which allows us to "convo" or even GPS track each attendee, which also allows alliances to do some partnering and recruting on the Fanfest. I dont want you guys from CCP spent too much resources on programming for this, but how about an open source community project, thats stirred and approved by CCP.

So if we have an app like this, you could integrate this into the registration process for fanfest. On my feature list for this app would be

a.) Registration: you decide if you want to provide your ingame personality (per API key selected from one of your accounts, not just the account you used for paying) but in the end everybody shoud have some character name, that is his Fanfest persona, even if it is made up just for FF. optional RL data like name & nationality

b.) Search functions, pretty much like ingame but just for attendees

c.) watchlist for anybody who enabled the GPS tracking. Wouldnt it be cool if have something like overview settings for your "local"

d.) Calendar tool, where you could schedule events aside from the main events. Of couse the CCP driven events should be also in the calender.

3.)
Considering we have this app and/or ensured that everybody is enlisted with an ingame persona for the Fanfest, i would suggest to have a badgeprinter at the registration. Some left their badge blank, some of the handwritten names where just not readable, which was kind of sad, cause i just photoed the badge for follow-ups and sometimes i was to drunk to realize, that it cant be read. Printing a sticker for the badge at the sign-up desks should not be too time consuming, if you have a barcode in the billing receipt for fanfest registration.

4.) some computers for quick interactions with EVE ingame. Something like a 10 minute limitation per session, so that isnt hell-camped. Just for skill change, short ingame convos, etc.

Yeah fanfest looked great this yeah and i plan on attending next year for the first time, if only for the Icelandic girls...

I'm not sure if i was dreaming at the time but i can remember hearing something about a combat arena being introduced. Can anyone confirm this or was it just something concocted by my imagination?
