Anomaly escalated to unrated site

So I have begun working on figuring out what anomalies escalate to what sites.

Up until today, my understanding has been that anomalies escalate to rated DED sites.

However, after my 16th Serpentis Rally Point, I received this message, with the title Serpentis Logistical Outpost

For those that do not know, Serpentis Logistical Outpost is an unrated combat site that can be found by probing down its signature. It can escalate and according to some, lead to c-type modules and 13th Tier Overseer Effects.

I'm not so concerned with the site itself, more so with the fact that I received an escalation from an anomaly to this unrated site.

Anyone else ever experienced this at any level of anomalies?

I am adding a screenshot of the expedition message for the suspicious.

100% serious.

I am continuing to run Rally Points to see if I get an escalation to it again or something else.

I have never seen an anomaly escalate to unrated site, though.

Screenshot added as "evidence." Believe it or not, I did in fact get an escalation to this site from a Serpentis Rally Point.

Another explorer in the exploration channel just reported getting a True Sansha Fleet Staging Point in null sec from a hidden Rally Point in low sec.

Despite what the evelopedia says, this site is not a DED 9/10 (I don't believe there actually are DED 9/10s). It is another unrated site that escalates.

Indeed. If anoms are escalating (I was only aware of rare faction spawns, though I am no expert) they may be worth running. Granted I'm in empire only atm, so perhaps that is why I never got an escalation from one.

Its been known for some time that anomalies can escalate. People that farm sanctums/havens learned it pretty quick as their sample sizes grew.

I have done 32 rally points today and only received that one escalation, to give you an idea of the chances.

Back on topic though, I am still curious if others have experienced anomalies escalating to unrated sites.

Good to know. I'll start clearing some (I stopped running them actually, not like the empire ones take long anyway ;p) and see If I can't get any to pop up.

I do believe there are 9/10s.. they were added at the same time as the sanctum nerf, iirc.

9/10s don't exist.

If you're going by the Eveopedia reports, those are NOT DED sites.

@OP, this is not new, i had the exact same thing happen when i was in TEST (Fountain), an escalation to an unrated DED site. Only had a few cruisers n frigs.

Normal or 'known to be broken'.

A few months ago i had a high sec anom escalate to a gurastas 4/10

Sansha Refuges and Dens both escalate to the Sansha 3/10.

I'd be interested to know how escalation works in Serpentis high-sec as they have both 3/10 and 4/10s.

Had an anomaly escalate to something called Jet set Hooligans. Go here, shoot gate guards, get serpentis faction armor hardeners/plates, go through gate, get blobbed by more and more ships until white cross elite frigs and BS whose description implies you are meant to run. Recieve message to next system do it all again. Really odd, just stopped after four pockets/systems.
Also had an anomaly escalate to a lowsec rated combat site with an A-type mod as part of four faction mods in loot.

Both these started in Gallente hisec over the last three weks.

Just to be clear, there is no such thing as an "unrated DED site."

There are DED rated sites and unrated sites.

Thanks for the contribution Roll. I know anomalies can escalate to DED rated sites. The confusion is if they are limited to escalating to DED rated sites or if it is intended for them to escalate to ANY site, rated or not.

I have gotten escalation from bloodraider anom back in days. Got some fat loot, stopped doing them since never got second escalation. So maybe they are just ultra rare.

All anoms can escalate (just like all can spawn faction rats), but the chances are very very small.

The Easy ones:

Sanctums escalate to DED 10/10s, period

Havens also escalate to DED 10/10s

Havens can escalate to DED 8/10s (i've had this happen several times in blood raider and angel space, never had a gurista haven escalate to an 8/10)

Hubs and rally pointsare the wild cards.

Forsaken hubs escalate to non-DED Fleet Staging points. Forlorn Hubs escalate to the relevant race's non-ded provincial HQ. Don't know what hidden hubs escalate to.

Forsaken Rally point can escalate to an 8/10 or 7/10 DED plex. Don't know what forlorn and hidden rally points escalate to

Regular Hubs always escalate to that races 8/10 DED or 7/10 DED if the race lacks an 8/10

Don't know about stuff below named rally points, as these are now the lowest you find in null sec upgraded systems and I never bothered with dens and such before the nerf.
