If you're going to Fanfest to pick up chicks, you're doing it wrong.

OP is just jelly.

2. Is this your social calendar
3. How do would you rate your beard on a scale of 1-10 against the other players there
4. When you have the massive rave at the end of Fanfest will you feel weird dancing with a thousand other men?
5. how many times have your quietly cried so far in your room

Hope you are all having a great time

1. pretty much yeah, I love love love fanfest!
2. I do other things too, I promise!
3. I have no beard so I guess 1
4. I don't like dancing but I really enjoy watching the thousand men dance and enjoy themselves
5. I just shed single tears of happiness every hour because fanfest is so great

You just completely undermined my trolling with this answer and i cant tell whether you are being a sweetie or just counter trolling.

Really really nice work lady.

there are several eve females there - not as many as guys but there are some there

I believe the internet standard response would be - pics or didn't happen.

Just sayin'

Agree with OP, if they are there, they are being hidden, hiding, or the camera guy is really shy and can't look that direction.

OP needs to visit Specsavers. I expected to see a 100% male attendance, but was pleasantly surprised at the number of females in the crowd scenes and sprinkled about in the audience at the presentations.

More like if you go to a fanfest and can't pick up chicks, you are doing it wrong.

Like I have been telling people the entire fanfest, Iceland only has 320k people in the entire country and 63% of them live in the city the fanfest is in.

Considering that statistically:

Approx 51% of any given population is female.
Approx 10% of any given population is "not straight".
The remaining people need to be staggered into groups based on age ranges with 15-18 being its own, forbidden group despite the fact its perfectly legal for a 15 year old Icelandic person to date a 30 year old since its still socially unacceptable. For our uses anybody over 50 is also considered out of bounds.
These age groups need to be set into "too ugly" and "'I'm scared to talk to them because I'm a beta" subgroups. Note that beer goggles changes this and has a large impact on these groups.
And then after all this you need to check the Icelandic website to assure the person is not related to you. This disqualifies more than most people want to admit even though its legal in Iceland to marry your first cousin.

.. It works out to about 100 people in the entire country you could date reasonably long term, more for one night stands. I'm also told this is too many by some of the girls I have talked to, so based on gender, etc and the numbers are clearly going to be different. But it explains a lot.

In short, if you are visiting Iceland and cant get laid you are doing it wrong, because there are a lot of hot women in Iceland looking for a foreigner to hook up with.

I will be judging the success of the fanfest not by the things I see now, but by the spike of births to Icelandic women in 9 months.

Yes I know its 5:38am.. I had a successful night.

Another thread about women?! Fanfest really reminds the EVE community about that strange/scary opposite sex! Although I lol'd at his post, OP clearly has less experience with the ladies than most of the neckbeards at fanfest.

If I remember correctly, the prices for non-playing extras to join at fanfest are a lot higher, so girlfriends and spouses stay home?

The only thing that I really noted as unusual in the live stream was the amount of people wearing black clothing in the audiences (non CCP.) To struggle for a simile offered without malice, on opening day It looked like a convention for chubby biker's that couldn't afford leather.

Since the OP put himself out there and I'm in a really thoughtful mood tonight:

Questions to OP

1. Is posting troll threads on a friday the highlight of your weekend?
2. Is posting on Eve-O GD about other people being pathetic your bag? (in no way implying that people are ACTUALLY pathetic i loves all of you)
3. Does your beard get in the way of typing whilst posting?
4. Do you wish you could be at a rave with 1000s of your closest space bros?
5. Do the tears that you most inevitably cry fuel other people's starships?
