Why shouldnt the player who self destructs get the final blow? Because technically ifa player successfully self destructs they killed the ship before their attacker did.

Not difficult to grasp

an unwillingness to manually post, and an unlikely api pull.

not difficult to grasp, bro.

Really noreason to post a self destruct mail since the player chose to destroy their ship

But dude, killmails in EVE are like RNG from raids in WOW! They are phat lootz for griefers and tear seeking boomers and without em you gotz no epeen proofers, so it all just becomes da shitz...

Sheesh guys, it's no big deal. It's not like you would've gotten to keep your ship had the killmail not been generated in the first place Yeah, so you lose a bit of metagame advantage - that sucks, I know. But as I mentioned in the other thread - adapt or die.

Whatever happens in EVE, you just have to deal with it.

If you don't bring enough dps to kill the target before it self-destructs, too damn bad, bring more dps next time.

The target does lose a ship, but at their own will by self destructing, therefore no loot, mail, intel, or salvage. Legit tactic of warfare.

Why would you need to bring more dps if the target is suicidal and just need a slight push?

Whats bullshit is self-destructing your ship to avoid admitting you lost your ship.

There should indeed be a record of it. If you dont like losing ships, stop playing eveonline.

why should you get a kill mail if you fail to bring enough dps to the fight? obviously i do lose my ship, but i chose to destroy it, therefore an opponent shouldnt get a kill mail.

This post and topic is completely irrelevant. If they fail to bring enough DPS to the fight, why would you have a problem winning, furthermore, why would you feel a need to self destruct your ship sir.

These threads are all the same - broad consensus that self-destructing should generate killmails, and one or two extremely vocal dissenters grasping at straws.

And CCP said (approximately) on the first day of Fan Fest that there will be killmails for self-destruction and that it will go to someone who damaged the ship (don't remember if they said top damage dealer). It's also been stated a few times by dev posts here in the forums over the past few months.

When? Well... :ccp: knows (or maybe not).

So it's coming, the decision is made.

Why would they bother to waste time with your pitiful whining is beyond me.

You should be glad that we bother to troll someone as bone-headed as you, because that's all this thread will ever achieve.
