wtf, why?

its already bad enough that everyone on grid gets the message that you started self destruct, now a killmail for a ship that you didnt kill wtf?

what is the point of self destructing your ship if things are changed?

i know, plenty of you chodes who never solo, will start flaming me about self destruct being lame, but how about bring more dps.

this is ******* bullshit

BEING ABLE TO SELF DESTRUCT IS A TACTICAL DECISION THAT DENIES YOUR ENEMY FITTING INTEL, LOOT AND SALVAGE.

Why should killmails matter?

Whats bullshit is self-destructing your ship to avoid admitting you lost your ship.

There should indeed be a record of it. If you dont like losing ships, stop playing eveonline.

why should you get a kill mail if you fail to bring enough dps to the fight? obviously i do lose my ship, but i chose to destroy it, therefore an opponent shouldnt get a kill mail.

If they don't bring enough dps to the fight to kill you then why would you SD in the first place?

should have typed "why should you get a kill mail if you fail to bring enough dps to destroy a ship before your opponent chooses to self destruct?"

So basically you're not man enough to go down with your ship and you choose the cowards way of ending a battle. If you really can't take getting a lossmail then stop pvping.

i would say its pretty manly to condemn your ship

but that aside, why should you get a mail, if i chose to self destruct my ship before you can destroy it? you didnt destroy my ship, i did

Yet it still received damage from other people before it was blown up. A killmail is awarded if you kill a ship in a pvp situation. Self-Destructing during pvp combat counts as just that. This change has been a long time coming.

but did said damage cause it to blow up? nope, therefore you shouldnt get a mail.

really not interested in arguing with you, this is very simple. players should not be awarded a kill mail for not destroying a ship.

May as well just self destruct before the fight even starts if you think you are gonna lose.

I mean whats stopping you from self destructing right at the point where you get scrammed?

Seems kinda cowardly and petty to me. Are you seriously that concerned about your killboard status?

It's more about pissing off the victors in the engagement isn't it? That's like something a smart assy 12 year old
would do to his dad. Just die like a man.

If you run into more than 2 a**holes in a day, you should probably look in the mirror.

this is what it boils down to, its an option a player has. if a player exercises that option, and destroy their ship before their enemy does, a kill mail shouldnt be awarded to their enemy.

Because we still caused the loss of your ship. Maybe we didnt bring enough DPS but maybe our DPS was a couple jumps away.

Self-destruct option is there so we cant endlessly hold you in position and never let you go.

Honestly, why do you care so much? You just dont want to admit you lost your ship. Why else would it matter to you?

if self destruct is strictly for preventing someone from holding you in position, then why doesn't loot drop?

it denies fit information as well.

there is more to it then what you mentioned

I guess you still have an option not to self destruct to deny them the killmail ...

Loot does drop.
You can still get ship fittings via ship scanner, which is often fitted to Bhaalgorns and other neut ships anyways.
