Fanfest Goers should 'BOO' Anti-PVP changes

Seeing as how much CCP loves the cheering (and in most cases they do deserve the cheers!), they might respond to the anti-pvp changes if everyone in the audience boo'd em =P

I refuse to believe all fanfest players are PvE'ers. Organize something and demonstrate to CCP how much you all hate the removal of highsec wars and these silly 'suspect flag' changes.

If they see the majority right in front of them yelling at them, maybe they'll think twice. The fact that they were able to announce this without reaction probably just reassured them they're doing it right. Its also mind boggling to me how nobody in the audience boo'd this...

You know, i've always told the PvE-only people that they're playing the wrong game... maybe Its me who's playing the wrong game...

"War declarations are never officially considered griefing and are not a bannable offense, and it has been repeatedly stated by the developers that the possibility for non-consensual PvP is an intended feature." - CCP

Seems like Saturday they'll cover the new wardec ideas, I guess that's when I'll decide to buy more game time or not.

Anti-PVP?

After doing a full review this is pro-pvp.

It especially invites more rookies to stay instead of rage quitting when you idiots bait them, I am getting sick and tired of sending the ibis patrol to starter systems to kill can baiters.

Finally it gets rid of cowards!. Pick on someone with teeth for a change of pace.

Death to station games.
Death to aggro games.
Death to PVT.

well to be fair it wasnt always like this. There was a time when eve was virtually a pure pvp game. Everyone did pve AS WELL AS pvp. But everyone was here for the pvp.

That has changed. Now CCP is re-tooling the game to be primarily PvE because of all the new kids who've subscribed, who are not used to the non-consensual pvp.

So, i was right a couple years ago... but today? definitely not the same game i started playing.

At this rate it will be impossible to pick on anyone, because any action that doesn't involve initiating a warp or the activation of a mining laser will make you a target to the whole universe.

Not a whole lot of people will want to play ball if the whole stadium is allowed to kick you in the shins just because you stepped out onto the field.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

This change is pro pvp, anti-cowardly high sec ganker.

Now Hulk pilots can have backup sitting in belt with them, to deal with CFs.

Now high sec pirates and pvpers can bring small fleets into belts, with the definate possibility of a escalating
conflit presenting itself from a simple can flip.

All this change means is more interesting possibilities for high sec combat and is going to
put a end to the consequence free life of a high sec ganker.

I mean, CCP never said that they were doing away with aggression flags for the cf victim shooting at your corpmates, just that
anyone could shoot the flipper without being concorded or gaining the suspect flag themselves.

Bring corporation backup, get ready to fight.

Deal with it.

I am a carebear, and I support High Sec ganking and PvP. Just please, don't blow up my Hulk*. **<3 **

Why should they boo a pro PVP change that will ruin the risk free tears of can flipping?

If i canflip, i wont be allowed to defend myself against my attackers. It adds no options. It just turns can-flipping into suicide.

One of the most disturbing moments came when, under the proposed rules, the following scenario was given:

1) Player A flips the can of Player B and gains a Suspect flag, making A shootable by everyone

2) Players C-Z go to town on Player A as a result.

Here's the kicker - going into this preso, CCP Greyscale said that once Player A gets aggressed by Players C-Z, Player A will not be allowed to shoot his aggressors back. Yes, this is basically making anyone with a mere Suspect flag the equivalent of GCC, just without the sec drop and CONCORD spawn. Many people in the audience, including myself, collectively WTF'd and suggested that he's off his rocker... and he seemed a bit surprised at this reaction

I have to ask, why not just make jetcans password-protectable? or make it so only corp/fleet people can open them?

You see, this is the kind of person the pve-catering is benefiting. He doesn't even know the rules of the game,, he just knows his hulk aint safe and its up to CCP to change that

This is the kind of mentality created by all other games out there. GuildWars? If you manage to scam someone you can just file a petition and get your item back, and the person who stole the item could even get banned for it.

CCP Greyscale wrote:

Can-flipping as-is will be impossible once the safeties are added. People should be able to choose to do dumb things, but they should also have the information they need to figure out that the thing they're doing is dumb.

Duelling we're planning to support with an explicit mechanic rather than the current hacky workaround.

Taking this reasoning towards scamming, i bet in a year scamming will be banned as well.

CCP Greyscale: What about the market scams that (ab)use the Margin Trading skill? I don't have any information that can tell me when these are scams, but they're allowed. And what about WTB contracts that ask for 2x items instead of one? Or that sell 1x plex for the price of 3? Shouldn't i be able to do dumb things without consequences also? What if i, a noobie, jump into lowsec without understanding the low/null rules? I mean, i know i get a popup warning telling me its dangerous, but i get a similar popup when i steal back my canflipped can as well.

Aside from the fact that I had a raging migraine the entire time Fanfest was streaming (and accidently watched it 2 times because I passed out for 4 hours), the flagging system didn't sound so bad. I was actually looking forward to my "suspect" title.

Ahem

Read before posting.

Safties are there for your idiocy. Dont sue concord for turning them off and the blow you up to bits. Safties are also there for your victims sake and are less likely to get the stupid flag you want them to have. You are by all means allowed to defend yourself in any and every event somone starts to shoot you finally.

This is by far the best change to high sec pvp ever. Can you imagine people acutally playing Privitatized Police for once?
Imagine a new profession that pvps for justice and many tears of 'gank-bears' every where.

Only people in this game that I dispise more than carebares are gank bears.

I would too if i could defend myself against my attackers. Unfortunately this isnt the case. If you steal a can you better just run and hide. Everyone can attack you, and you're not allowed to defend yourself against them.
