TBH I was rather disappointed with the bombardment GFX, maybe more than with the inability to actually aim the bombardment yourself. I mean, where are the huge glowing craters? Where are the mushroom clouds? Even with artillery, you're firing apparently near-c projectiles, some with nuclear warheads. The effect was frankly underwhelming.

Im sure the orbital bombardments are attenuated from your weapons full power or you would destroy friendlies too, not to mention infrastructure and towns and cities. The orbital strikes are presumably meant to be pinpoint.

True. However, the explosions were still rather underpowered, and there was no effect on the terrain, which is ridiculous really.

Halo Reach also has an orbital bombardment weapon, and while it's on a much smaller scale - 50mm autocannons AFAIK - it does leave burn marks on the terrain.

It's such a shame the same will never happen to you

Haha, damn, already? At least wait until it's released.

...Or get in on the beta. If I remember, they said at the end of the presentation that they'll iterate based on feedback.

Does the beta include the eve portion?

I assume that it will at some point, for balance testing and whatnot.

Maybe on SiSi?

An eve pilot should have to sit in orbit a bit longer for a bombardment and....he should have fun doing it.

Some skill requiring mini game controlling how accurate your shot is would be great. Maybe balancing signal amps or matching frequencies or having to scan it down...
Some bit of manual aim(+-20m from target spot based on what you see from above)
Maybe timing shots as your aim swings around the desired aim point...something.

Just something....more

Completely agree, a quick time event based on mathematical formulas should determine the accuracy of the bombardment. Think Guitar Hero mixed with math behind the Newtonian Physics, in order to pull of a precision strike. And your high school self never thought all that math will come in handy in the future!

So Newtonian Physics V to use the T2 orbital bombardment module?

the only thing i would like added is eve players should get a view of the wreckage they caused. if i kill 4 tanks i want too see my shots hit the ground and kill them, if i kill friendlies i want to see the shots hit as well.

Eve online and Dust work on different graphics engines, this would be impossible unless the port it to the PC and you just happen to be playing DUST on another monitor.
