Getting Characters stall

My client stalls with no character pictures at "Getting Characters" just after the log in screen. The bar loads to the top then nothing....so I removed the cache and tried to load it again.....nothing changed. This means I cannot log onto eve. I have tried to repair, to clear chache and nothings working.

seems to have fixed itself....somehow
