Too closed lipped on the Gallente

You know , CCP should do this with the Blizzard's way :

- Buff something/Nerf something live (And not for an expansion)
- Look how it's going for like a week
- Buff/Nerf that thing if the balance is not correct

Expansions should be for Huge changes (Like the Supercap Nerf , the change expected is not a "number" thing , so it's really good to do it in an expansion) .

But Hybrid does not need a Revamp . They need a buff .

Not in pure damages , no . But a Really better Alpha for the Railguns (with same DPS over time , just like +100% damage modifier and +100% RoF) and a Really Better optimal for Blaster would adress a LOT of issues .

and now you have beams mk2 and AC's mk2.



upping the damage, in my opinion is the right way to go, but only if you make them totally useless beyond 10km.

crappy hybrids also affect caldari too........ resulting in caldari having no useful Heavy Assault Cruisers (cerb is a crap hac cos it;s a missile boat) when flying in snipe hacs only turret based weapons are useful (eagle could be the one for caldari but only if rails are fixed)

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

Balancing is boring, as it has been said before, but leaving a race with a broken specialization is complete fail. Gallente are supposed to be able to get on top of a target and do some serious damage, they're the close range race of the 4.

Right now its broken, nobody cares if a gallente ship gets in range because by the time it does, it's already into hull.

Fix this problem, and you're golden.

It's true. Compared to the film Hackers, any post, nay, any work of art looks amateurish and small in comparison.

Given that they are mostly useless beyond 10 km, I kinda think just buffing the damage and dropping fitting requirements is the way to go (though if you buffed the damage enough, the glass cannon neutron fits just got much more interesting than the **** they often were). If you make the ships faster, they become minmitar with poorer fitting (see ruppy v. thorax, also, compare active hype v. active maelstrom, guess which fits a full rack of its largest weapons, a mwd, cap booster, and proper self tank (you know you need dual reps to equal an x-large booster)). If you up the falloff, you have autocannons that use cap on slow ships (still kinda sucks, right?). If you up the optimal, you have pulse lasers -scorch that do more damage. Also, no bs that is not gallente should have 125 drone bandwidth, I am looking at you geddon/phoon (both of which can usually take a mega for the most part and are sadly much better ships).

EDIT: what size totally useless beyond 10km (and what ammo)? Also, 10km base, or 10km with 2 tracking comps 2 tes? Mediums, hell yes (15km opti + falloff for iron on caldari boats ofc)

Recently we've been playing with a fleet setup of short ranged, Disposable DPS ships. Welpfleet.

We use Minmatar, because they are quite literally the best ships in the game in everything pre-Capital ship. Faster, stronger, second in drone space, more DPS, etc etc. It's absolutely absurd.

I tried, tried hard, to match the DPS output of a short range Minmatar Hurricane using T2 Autocannons with a Gallente Myrmidon using T2 Blasters. It's not possible. By a long shot.

To compare:

Hurricane:
Highs: +2
Power: +175
Speed: +20m/s
Shield: +391
(... But wait, isn't Minmatar Shield tanked? Of course it will have better shields than the Armor tanked Galente... yes... but...)
Armor: +/- 0. +10 EM resist. Yes, the Minmatar ship has better armor resists and the same armor level as the armor tanked race's ship (that has + to armor tanking).
Cargo: +75 m3

The only place the Hurricane loses out, really loses out, is drones. But who uses drones in a fleet fight?

The Gallente's revenge is capital ships -- when the name of the game turns to giant bees, Gallente comes into their own again.

here are the fixes for hybrids:

blasters:

concept shotguns (short range arties...)

1. Increase base damage by 50%
2. Decrease rate of fire by 30%
3. Increase base tracking by 15%
4. Increase falloff by 50%

railguns: Concept long range auto cannons

1. Increase base damage by 15%
2. Increase rate of fire by 15%
3. decrease activation cost by 40%
4. increase falloff by 50%

ammo:

Simular boost that projectile ammo got

concept choice between what damage type you want to do between thermal and Kinetic (i.e. antimater does 80% thermal damage 20% kin damage, uranium does 80% kin damage and 20% thermal damage)

also include a tracking bonus built into the ammo

Caldari boost:
remove the optimal range bonus for hybrid turrets and replace with a rate of fire bonus

gallente boost:
remove the falloff bonus and replace with a mass reduction bonus

change the internal rep bonus to include a bonus incomming remote rep

General fix:
change the speed reduction affect on armor rigs and replace with an agility reduction
change reload time from 10 seconds to 5 seconds

well with my boost for hybrids tell me you would not fly this:

new eagle: shield hac afterburner setup

caldari cruiser bonus:
5% to rate of fire per level
5% to shield resistance per level

heavy assault ship bonus:
10% to optimal range per level
5% to damage per level


fit:
rigs:
1 shield extender rig
1 em rig

lows:
2 mag stabs II
1 rcu II
1 dcu II

mids:
10mn ab II
