Why so many christian references in this game?

Have you ever spoken to a Christian? They are some crazy people! I wouldn't put it past them to take over the world one day and then proceed to take over the galaxy. I can't understand what would drive a person to worship an invisible being that they have never seen. Take it from me...cat worship is where it is at!

Christianity has spread through the entire globe and only really has Islam as any real contender to deal with. Trying to claim that religions that are already underrepresented here and now be equal 20,000-30,000+ years in the future is just silly.

oh no ...... a religion topic ...

"(real live) Political" or "(real live) religios" topics are forbidden in many forums ... for a very good reason: Those threads immediatelly got hot. The probability of rants, hate, insults, despisements and so on is very high. In some countries such public statements against 'something' are even forbidden.

The best proof for problems on those topics is the OPs posting itself.

Although i consider myself as moderately religious (too), I expect this thread being closed very soon - in order to prevent more hate here.

Hehe, sorry, but I had to laugh. Name one single war, that America has ever won on its own, obviously without counting the civil war over there which was basically English versus English.

There isn't even any warlords in Afghanistan, yet look how thats going.

The people who crossed the EVE gate were the ones with horrible lifes who took the way of the colonization to escape their poorness on the Earth. So yes, it would be extremely consistent with your "China will beat USA in 2030" logic that we were, in fact, all USAnians in Eve.

The Amarrian religion is just a generic stand-in for religion in general.

It is obviously a Christian variant but without a Messiah Figure, like the world of Arbre in Neal Stephenson's "Anathem" or the Bajoran religion on ST:Deep Space 9.

Actually the colonisers where the ones with enough militairy clout, tech and power to claim the new riches beyond the eve gate since the riches in the solar system and beyond where depleted.

They wouldn't send poor people through the gate, they'd send those who could pay/work/achieve and colonize. Poor people would stay right where they where at, being poor and hungry.

Thats one thing all the EVE cultures have in common, the need to succeed in different forms. (except the lazy minmatars)

With a domestic murder rate the highest in the developed world, (100x higher that the number two spot) you are certainly good killers.

To be fair, part of the equation is that it's all out in the open. Some governments have a very low murder rate and a very high rate of "disappearances."

The US is a PvP server.

While the destruction of western culture is a bit of overstatement. OP has valid point.
However many of people in western world are quite ignorant. Please open your mind.

As a teacher of religious studies this kind of made me sick in my mouth.


a) 'Eden' is a Christian term.

Eden is a concept not exclusively from Christianity but more specifically follows from the Abrahamic tradition. The Abrahamic religions include Judaism, Islam and Christianity (where Christianity can be seen as an offshoot of Judaism through revelation).

b) It's all about the west.

Christianity did not start in Europe or America, nor is it exclusively a western religion. The same can be said of any Abrahamic religion.

c) Sweeping statements forecasting the future.

Beliefs are one thing. Fact is the another. Pretend you know the difference.
