graphical error, black screen (Update: problem intensified to launcher&repair tool etc)

hi hi,

this time yesterday I access eve fine on this character, and then went off to work. 9 hours later I tried to log in and got a plain black screen at log in..

after fiddling I managed to find the user name and password boxes and get in to character select.. but everything is still black..

and then select character and get in game~ but everything.. still black .

I made no changes to the computer, or the game between the successful access 24hours ago, and the failed access beginning 16 hours ago.

I have submitted a petition about it, but posting here for added effect :P

Updated to most recent graphics drivers, ati radeon 3200
the date on that driver seemingly was mid Feb, not mid afternoon yesterday.

All cache everything deleted, and has no effect.
Safe mode too produces nothing different.

Attempts to run the repair tool fail at 4/7 and 84.5%, with an error message of only :

No handlers could be found for logger "carbon"

I play eve in a window, and tried changing desktop resolutions, as per a forum topic I found somewhere, to no efffect. And since deleting all cached settings etc it has reverted to full screen, but still fails to display anything at all.

Any and all help is appreciated.. skills ticking down :( not to mention subs

this has now escalated following today's downtime to a launcher update failure, and the continued failure of the repair tool.

Whether this is related to my earlier graphic problem or not is something i cannot determine.

Nevertheless, still waiting on any response to this or to the petition

We had an issue with the Payload for Mac which effected both launcher and repair tool, in case you are running EVE on a Mac try to run the Launcher again.

The behavior you are describing (no change if run in safemode) points at a problem with your system rather then with the EVE Client, have you already tried the different solutions suggested in the EVELopedia?

thank you for replying to my post.

No, I am not using a mac, and been trying the launcher and repair tool every few minutes since the problem began.

As to the other suggestions on the evelopedia, none of the applicable entries there has any effect.

Like I said, the game ran fine, I shutdown and went to work, came home and it's not working, and the repair tool was failing to complete from THAT time.
Two Downtimes later and the launcher quit updating and the repair tool still had no effect.

After a failing of the online installer, a full manual* install has allowed me back into game

demonstrating claery that this WAS NOT an issue with my system, and was in fact a problem with EvE that the repair tool failed to correct.

Awaiting the next patch to see if it comes crashing down again.

A full install includes the installation of DirectX and C Runtime Dlls which might have been corrupted on your machine, but I agree with you that this is a short coming of our technology. That is the reason why I already have on my schedule to add the installation of those DLLs to the repair tool which is going improve your user experience with these issues (soonTM).

Thanks for that correction, perhaps it was me who was being Twisted , and thanks for your kind attention on this matter.

Hopefully the issue won't come up again, but if it does I'll let you know.

Guys i got SAME PROBLEM as described above. But i havent installed anything. I send petition no reply… i send twice.

I opened the game after playing before during the day and the screen stoped moving i couldnt do anything so i had to force quit. When i reopend the app all i see is black screen while i hear sound. I closed restarted the pc. Still nothing same thing.

In full screen i see black. In windowmode i see mirror of the backeround and no game at all just sound.

I deleted the game and im re-downloading hopefully this will solve the issue but it takes forever to downolaed 5gb

What if this doesnt solve it and happen again???

Could you give us a bit more information?

What Operation System are you using?
Have you already tried to clear your cache?
Can you describe with as many words as possible what the error is you are seeing?
