So I bought myself a Tenchu about 10 mins ago.

Clicked "Assemble ship"
Window comes up saying "Select 5 subsystems from the above categories"
But then doesnt actually let me select any.......Anyone else experienced this problem???

Yeah, I generally solve these kinds of problems by actually knowing what I'm doing.

Enjoying the rain today? ;)

Do you only have 5 subs? If so there is no choice. That screen is normal for the first time assembly

Did you actually buy the subsystems? They are seperate items on the market. Hope you have a spare 200mil for them

You actually have to have the sub systems in your hanger before you can select them. It will not be cheap I am afraid if you forgot to buy them along with the hull.

On the upside, I do have some 'Tenchu' subsystems for sale.....

Tenchu?

There's no ship called that in EVE.

Tech 3 ships, including the tengu, are ‘special’ in a number of ways.

The first becomes apparent when you try (like any other ship) to assemble the hull. It will not let you assemble the ship unless you have five subsystems (one of each type) available to fit. They do not need to be your final planned set of subsystems but you must have at least one of each type for that ship available before you’ll even be able to assemble the ship.

Once assembled you can swap subsystems by simple drag-dropping, but (another special feature), many subsystems change the number of hi/mid/low slots available in the ship … so if you drag a new subsystem into the ship you may find some modules automatically removed, or new slots open up.

Rigs work in T3s just like in other ships. Swapping the subsystems, or your modules, does not change the rigs.

If you get killed in your T3 ship, another special feature, you will lose a ‘randomly’ selected skill level from the highest subsystem skill group for that ship. I say random but the reality seems to be that the biggest-PITA skill is the one that gets chosen most of the time. That is not a huge hassle as you can recoup a lvl5 T3 skill pretty quickly.

Also, another special, you cannot refit the subsystems of a T3 using the SMA in a POS. IDK for sure but assume the same applies to orca / carrier (etc) refitting services. You can swap modules etc, like a normal ship, but not the subsystems … that’s for stations only (not sure re outposts).

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

2/10 because so many people fell for it.

btw: has anyone else noticed how the density of T3 subsystems is 60 times higher than that of any element known today? ******* subsystems, how do they work?

I should buy an Ishtar.

I've had many problems with tech 3 ships (proteus though). Subsystems not loading or suddenly effectively not working as if I didn't have the subsystems skills and dying under ridiculous circumstances. I won't go near any of them now.

Take a close look at this. Pic is fairly old but I tested it out on Sisi not too long ago and got similar problems. Bug report filed, no idea what is going on with it.

Yeeee!

When I read "Tenchu" I blanked on the actual name of the ship for a minute. Okay, sorry, back to your discussion.
