Hello,

Because my main computer (on Windows) is not the best choice to run EvE Online. I tried to run the client in my MacBook Pro Last Generation.

MacBook Pro 17 inch
Intel Core i7 2.5Ghz
8 Go DDR3
128Go SSD Drive
Radeon HD 6770M 1024MB

And every time i'm on big fleet and a fight starts, that problems occurs each time :

- I get stuck on a nice Space Background without anyone on my screen
- Overview do not load
- Navigation systems and action buttons do not appear
- the client crash
- I can have 0.01fps / sc
- ......

And I did every things corpmates told me to do :

- I set graphics details to minimum
- I disable brackets
- I zoom out far away to see not that many ships on the field
- I shutdown every unneeded softwares except mumble and EvE

Now I have a game that looks like first days of Mankind (made in 1998) :

The result is I'm forced to kill the client and when I go back, I'm dead (ship and pod) without I shoot one time or I be able to click on any buttons and I am returned to station....

Great !

So I require help here.

That makes not a long time I started EvE and I'm in nullsec but I start to think I'll move from it to another choice.

It is not possible to play! Clearly.

My main computer on windows is not that bad with its hardware but the problem is closely the same.

So am I the only one get that problem ?

Is there anything else I can do to correct this ?

What should I do ?

The mac client locks up randomly, there's a long thread about it.
I had to restart the client 4 times today just to manage my 6 PI planets.

I'm also having many problems trying to run the Eve client on OS X 10.6.2 (Snow Leopard) and the last few client updates have made things gradually worse for me. It used to be just pilot icons not appearing but now its almost unusable.

I also run on an old Windows XP machine, 2.2GHz dual core with 3G RAM and there are no problems - everything runs smoothly. Yet on my more modern OS X machine, 2.8GHz dual core 4G RAM, most things are choppy. Both systems are using 1600x1200 screen.

Today after the latest update, Crucible 1.6 there are so many problems:-
- client locked up at a stargate and I had to force quit client and use Windows XP client to get back to safety.
- sound failed and wouldn't restart
- sound often lags events by several seconds.
- leaving stations is painfully slow and ship often vanishes from view
- very slow reappearance after a stargate jump and Overview often ignores mouse clicks
- pilot portrait icons not showing

I'm not sure when things changed but the OS X client used to be brilliant and a joy to use.
Now I'm going to use the Windows XP client on my older machine as ship safety is paramount.

Hopefully the OS X Eve client it will get better again soon.

I'm thinking that I should just set bootcamp up and be done with it to be honest. I'm getting the same as the OP in big fights.
