80m total, will deal with all lvl3s easily

quoting myself here...

~700dps
~40km falloff
~0.05 tracking (more than my nightmare which still hits frigates ~15km)
no deadzone thanks to the undersized AC (0.1x tracking)

I should buy an Ishtar.

Off topic a bit but use them as dps in level 4s. Someone else will have to be the main tank but they have enough tank with a couple of LSEIIs to largely ignore randome aggro.

Think of them as dirt cheap Machariel/Kronos/Nightmare/Vindi/Paladin etc in terms of dps with extra mobility. They will excell at doin the great things :P in pve such as dps support for lvl5s plexes etc etc.

If for example you can't risk taking a faction BS missioning in 0.0 your answer are tier 3 BCs... same gank for a 20th (or something) of the cost...

On topic I would take a Talos on lvl3s cause of the light drones it can carry... the others would produce ohshit moments with the close up frigs... happended to me in an Eagle some 5 years ago and it was ... embarassing to say the least (you wont pop but you also wont finish the mission before dt :P :P :P) ... on the other hand these days npc frigs cycle their ew and you can use an mwd in missions so perhaps you d be ok...

It works fine as a lvl 4 support.

We made a Drake/Naga team for lvl 4 missions. Drake draws argo Naga snipes from long range.

as for solo-ing missions I'd advice against it, you'll get killed by elite frigates, web/scamble and you'll die a long slow death.

I used the Naga for Level 3 missions. It works fine as long as you stay about 70km away from anything. At 70km with 425mm Railguns (Plutonium Ammo) and a Targeting Computer with Optimal Range script it was clearing things faster than my Drake did. For frigates, would put in a Tracking Script and MWD out to 90-100km and use long ranged ammo. Once the frigates are gone, you can cut the range down again and quickly clear out Cruisers with Plutonium.

…except that against cruisers, that's actually the equivalent of a 0.03 rad/s tracking, and against frigates, it's 0.01. That translates into 50m/s transversal at 5km; 250m/s transversal at 25km. So yes, it most certainly has a dead sone. You'll likely have the speed to keep stuff out of it, but saying it isn't there is somewhat inappropriate.

Read again. Open your market tab and look and see that Im Talking about LARGE GUNS with those names mate.
Then maybe you should have indicated that more clearly since “dual lasers” exist in more than one size category; since “electron blasters” exist in all three sizes; since 250mm rails are medium rails; leaving “large autos” as the only indication of what you were talking about (and even then, calling them dual 425s had been a better distinguishing description). Reading again doesn't help much when the words “heavy”, “cannon”, and “dual” (which make a world of difference) weren't there. vOv

Anyway, yes, going for the smallest large turrets makes things a bit easier, but the problem largely remains the same: you're picking the wrong tools for the job and then decreasing its abilities to make it a tiny bit better at something it's no good at. If you want to fly them, I'd rather suggest you use them as support ships for group L4s or some such. At least then you can actually make use of the damage potential.

I want to direct your attention to something in my first sentence of the post you responded too.

Cant get much more clear then that. You just jumped the gun and put your foot in your mouth because you didn't actually read the post you did a scan and jumped to an idiotic conclusion yet again.

And rather then say "Opps my bad" like a normal person you decided to double down on stupid.

Also you used far to many words to make a simple point.

i agree only partially. i did a plot of only the medium gun (425mm medium prototype, regular EMP) with the following input:
- all5 skills
- no implants
- 40m target sig
- 250m/s target velocity
- 90° target angle

the damage peaks at ~8km distance with ~32dps. a 280mm T2 artillery (SMALL weapon size) even came close to 35 dps with Quake S and a steady ~24dps between 5 and 20km with faction Titanium. reducing the target's velocity or angle obviously profits the medium guns, to a point where a 425mm T2 can get well over 60dps, which is as much as 3-4 light drones. at around 20km the large guns kick in and from then on, you get a steady 100+ dps even against such an extreme target.

with regard to the vigorous top speed of 1660m/s it is a decent emergency solution, although you really should call it your 'barely alive' zone for when you get webbed at least 3 times.

edit: **** this forum

Why fly a battlecruise when the buffed assault ships can do it much better, faster and are more agile and tankier?
It may go away from your question but since the assault ship buff, I didnt find any level 3 mission that couldnt be done in my Harpy with neutron blasters and antimatter (or null S if needed).
You will tank just everything that is thrown at you and you just pop / instapop any NPC that looks at you. Just fit with an AB and your are good to go.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!
