The tech2 microwarpdrive reduce your capsitor by a little less than the experimental one.
The experimental one requires way less cap for each active cycle.
As for now, the tech1 modules seem to be better and cheaper than the tech2.

So your actually able to keep the experimental one active longer than the tech2.

Is there any other differences as well? (except fitting requirements)

On ships like the Deimos, which receive a cap penalty reduction, and that only need to get into range very quickly, the t2 gives you more capacitor back than the meta lvl one. this means that for short spurts of MWD, followed by a longer fight, the t2 wins out in cap usage versus cap advantage. On a ship like the Vagabond however, where you are going to be running the MWD extremely often to stay away from something else, the decreased usage of the Y-T8 means longer cap life

TLDR: T2 works VERY well on some ships by giving them an actual cap bonus, while the Y-T8 is more general in it's usage, and provides longer cap life

Generally meta4 MWD gives you more cap when you are running the MWD while the t2 is better when its turned off. Choose accordingly.

Thanks for explaining this.

Also, in ships that use cap significalty ouside of mwd -- for example laser boats and active tanked ships -- the T2 is always better than the meta for the difference in lost cap more than makes up for the difference in usage.

Yeah basically use the named on nanofag ships and T2 on brawlers.

Experimental is easier to fit than T2, those extra powergrid may come in handy.

Not to mention Meta 4 MWD are dirt cheap, leaving you with extra isk to spend on more ammo or other modules.

I also believe that the Meta MWD overheats better than the T2 MWD. I almost always use Meta due to that and the fitting requirements.
