REIMBURSE PLAN FOR CAUSED OF LAUNCHER HICCUPS

Dear CCP,

Should we have some reimbursement on the hiccups for the pass 3 days for those who
have paid subscription but failed on many account on the patch, fix and re_downloading
a new client. I think it's unfair for most of us out here who struggled, especially those who
are no technically inclined to all the techie stuff thrown in their face after they paid for
entertainment.

For me it's 1.5 days and alot of my time trying to fix what CCP have laid out as very broken
application for alot of us. And please don't look at me as some greedy player wanting some
benefit from this, someone has to be responsible ... I don't really care about what you can
give whether isk or a few more days of playtime. But some justification to why everything is
failing ...

The launcher fails to patch.
The patch fails to download.
The repair tool doesn't repair.
The repair tool corrupts the eve app further.
The manual patch option being removed prematurely ... as if we have a perfect launcher.
The Installer fail to download the payload.
The manual payload download stops short during download.

And eventually have to rely on a third party downloading tool (JLoader) to download this
gigantic file off the server and resetup eve shortcuts and windows.

Please ... not again.

The fact that the world, if it be ours (sadly) or EVE's, doesn't revolve around you doesn't click does it?

You are the .01% of users. When developing code, in house, unless everyone test it on the test server before it is launched, and gets useful code to the devs before hand, and they can cover every single piece of code to make sure it works on every single piece of hardware in existence not to mention go through the countless miles and miles of networking cable and systems to reach your little computer(s), it will always have its share of users who get the short straws. The Devs have been working and guess what, even with patches being hard to get, they still have released a patch each day since 1.5 was released and on top of that, a complete build was built and released with todays patch (wasn't updated since 1.5 before today).

Once you are done with downloading and installing the absolute latest build which should have the newest launcher and everything required to go from here on, then even if the launcher is broken for you by chance, watch for the .patch files I post that you can simply import into the launcher and patch that way (Same as just Manual patching for now).

Now you have gained the knowledge of checking Sisi BEFORE major patches!

How nice of CCP to give that to you? No need for anything else!

Hi,

Nope I am not the 0.1% affected in fact they have to do a emergency shutdown for alot of players being trapped outside the game. Well yes I think sisi is a good setup for testing stuff. But after reading up the post I realised there have been problem reported by those who are willing to spend their time to test it. Yet they were not really resolved till the launch date and still they went ahead which created unnecessary issues for those many who was caught up by this irresponsible act.

And so what if I check the SISI test ... didn't it still screw up after so many testers have posted the issue before the launch. And do we really have a choice of not upgrading to the next patch ... answer is No. Whatever CCP launches we will have to include or we could not even log on. So tell me about testing in SISI all done up.

I am quite sure there are supporters of CCP in these forums. And probably their staff acting as players and user.

Am not impressed by this incident. Well by now everyone should be able to log on .... but I still see guys getting stuck outside the game, wondering what hit them. Actually my launcher is still broken now after the update ... but managed to log in bypassing the launcher and using the Exefile.exe in the bin folder inside Eve installation Root Directory.

Come on remove the dang launcher it's broken and useless to your customer.

Downloaded the whole thing again re installed it took me 5hrs again ... while the repairer failed to repair but caused eve client to error ... Very enjoyable reinstalling . CCP it was fun.

Just signed in to add my $0.2. I have been unable to play for the last week. The launcher gets stuck at 79PERCENT all the time. I did once finally get EVE launched, so I thought it was fixed, but it seems like they brought out a patch today too that also broke it. The repair tool gets stuck at 59PERCENT..I *just* managed to get EVE itself launched after downloading a patchfile from the forum..and then EVE told me it needed to download an update to the client

What is the point of this new launcher? When I finally made it into EVE it told me I still needed to download a patch. I thought the old patching system was pretty bad but its gone from bad to worse

My skill training is finished and I've been unable to get in to update it. I feel a bit robbed to be honest.


Oh for goodness sake, the forum says I'm not allowed to post HTML..IM NOT POSTING HTML....A NUMBER WITH A PERCENT SIGN AFTER IT IS HOW PERCENT SIGNS ARE NORMALLY USED, LONG BEFORE URL SAFE ENCODING OR EVEN COMPUTERS WERE INVENTED.

You say that this is why they have the test server...

Cept, for the last couple years if less than 75% of the users on Sisi report or complain about something, they just seem to ignore it until they go live, then the masses complain, then they fix it...or not...

Man guys, I really feel for ya...I absolutely love this launcher. It works perfectly for me. I have it set to not show up unless there is an update and that's all it does. If you're having problems, you might try turning off your anti-virus and definitely do NOT click an links on the launcher. Some how, it makes the file it's currently updating a locked file...but, that may even be fixed by now.

If it were as simple as that for me, I would have already done it. The launcher is obviously not very well tested and obviously bugged and I think the CCP don't even know how to solve the problem of the Launcher they created. It's be 10 days and every patch .... "UNPATCHES" eve client. Once again my newly installed eve is broken for the 4th time.

THANKS CCP . YOUR GREED AND LAZINESS HAS OVER TAKEN YOU.

To the people who whine about "the world doesn't revolve around you!~!!" Stfu. You aren't getting EVE for free, you are PAYING for it. The least you can expect is for it to work.

Here another .01% .. And after today's everyday's update, even my launcher won't launch LOL

Is the launcher working yet, it still fails to update without error. I am so scared of hitting the repair tool it may mean reinstallation all over again. Downloading my not be a problem for me but I know for some it's a pain. My pain will be to get the windows and shortcut keys all set up again and again.

This is no good customer experience and no CCP wants to have a conversation about get us some reimbursing for a broken product? Every update send me hunting for the right patch, you guys need to pay me for the work I have to do to play this game. Not impressed.

i suggest best case scenario, run out of skill queue ... CCP may reimburse you some SP ...

otherwise like you and me ... multiple screw up in launcher trying to make a good patch ... just keep on spamming that launcher till it fixes itself ... this is a CCP server side problem or so as some blokes have found out ... that it runs into errors trying to avert firewalls n anti viruses ... etc etc etc ...

WUT ???

unfortunately i like space ships ... i dont like CCP patches ... i dont like goons ....

so the work around is really keep spamming launcher to repair it.

my eve program is finally patched after 3 runs of launcher ...

how to make CCP pay you back? id say join a incursion with a good ship fit and farm back a 30 day plex :D
