Highsec has been getting safer and safer. Every time one of us thinks up some clever way to visit violence upon carebears, we get nerfed. We keep thinking up more interesting stuff, but it only lasts so long before it gets nerfed.

Since I've started my life as a scoundrel they've systematically nerfed tons of solid grief.

First they nerfed ninja salvaging and mission invasion, and to pound the final nail in that coffin they introduced the Noctis.

They've nerfed wreck baiting such that you cannot currently make an unsalvagable wreck.

They've done everything they can to make sure that Orcas serve as little purpose for scoundrels and cutthroats as possible.

They've removed insurance payouts for suicide gankers.

They even visited special attention on The Skunkworks directly in our efforts to help deal with the Incursion problems.

There is a well known bug that allows a corp infiltrator to be kicked in the middle of a gank, resulting in Concordokken and, while I do know a guy several monthes ago that got a ship reimbursed for it, to my knowledge no one has ever been banned or even warned for doing it.

And then, the mother of them all, they legalized dec scraping and corp hopping, causing the merc business to all but dry up and blow away. Many merc outfits, including The Orphanage, have essentially shut their doors, and those few that remain are hollow shells of their former selves. To add insult to that injury, corp hopping is perfectly legal except when you hop while on grid with a victim. While I'll be the first to tell you that mechanic is really lame, banning it while everything else is legal means the lameness does not cut both way.

As a side-effect, POS's in highsec have been functionally invincible for months and nothing has been done about it.

And now, as the straw that broke the camels back is undocumented stealth nerfs to sec status repair and reshipping while under GCC.

Conversely, what happens when carebears have a spell of cleverness? They get content. When they started using GSCs to live out of, they got POS towers. They get propped up and we get pounded down.

It's a Red Queen's Race and we're falling behind.

I'm told that there's a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of Inferno, but as a close friend of mine once told me, you should hold out one hand marked Hope and one hand marked **** and see which one fills up first. Any promises made at this point will be treated like a statement that we're having unicorn meat for dinner. Until I see sparkles and a horn on my fork, I don't believe it.

How did this happen, you ask? Simple. We've fought with our guns, our fits, our knowledge of mechanics, our social engineering and carebears have fought back with complaining. They've complained about everything to the point that they're down to complaining about getting cargo-scanned. And I'm sure even that will catch a nerf.

So what now? We're being pushed out of the game. Is it possible to stay in and do some bits of grief here and there? Maybe. How much longer is it worth it? At what point is so far from the cutthroat, take no prisoners game that I fell in love with?

So here's what's going to happen. If we can't have this game, neither can the carebears.

I am putting up all the money I can scratch together to fund a crime spree. You think it was bad when we were shoplifting Slim-Jims? Well now we're going to burn the 7-11 to the ******* ground. The Skunkworks will be flipping tables and stabbing people in broad daylight and we're inviting everyone who operates in highsec in a PvP way to join us. We're not even out for profit or our own amusement. We're out for blood and tears. We want rage quits and people punching monitors. We want each and every griefer, cutthroat, shitheel, mercenary, scammer, spy, thief and puppy-kicker to be stomping through the post-apocalyptic wasteland that used to be highsec, swinging wrecking-ball fists at anything stupid enough to get in our way.

And while this sentiment and a commitment from The Skunkworks is all fine and good, nothing motivates the moderates like cold hard cash. I'm not rich. I don't run incursions and I don't own a tech moon. But I'll put what I can towards this. Subsequently, I'll be putting up the following prizes:

well better dust off the old mastodon out see you break its tank :). But i fully feel what you are saying about nerfing any form of pvp in high sec. They could have been polite and leave the most prestiges profession of merc be as it is. Oh well guess they have to grow some balls now and go out to null or low sec to fight.

I agree with the sentiment.

Instead of just complaining about the nerfs, take it up a notch.
I can say that my -10 alt has been plenty busy since the recent stealth nerf spree.

Planning on contributing to this activity, and I'm sure TEARS will be more than willing to join in.

My personal favorite is pushing the Tornado to ganking extremes. Its a real blade of death for miners, and I believe that they are far underutilized by the average suicide ganker, killing one miner at a time.

I want to see how many T2 Exhumers a skilled ganker can kill with a single Tornado before Concord ends the party.

Killing 4 Mackinaws in a row is quite easy, 6 tricky but doable in 0.6.
I theorize that 8 is possible in 0.5, but most of those ice belts tend to have fewer targets available....

I'm thinking 500M or so would be a suitable prize, but Psychotic Monk will add it to his original post when the details are worked out.

Oh, and if you are sitting there in the stone age, wondering how you can make 1400MM Arties shoot that fast, in a few days I'll post some of the tricks and refinements I've made to Tornado fits to really make it shine in a glorious, worthy death.

Because, really, what could be finer.....
than buying a single T2 Tornado, inflicting 500+ Million in damage to random miners, collect their tears, and end up with enough loot and T2 Salvage that you come out nicely ahead? Nothing, thats what.
