The whole premise of the movie is superb.

Eh, I'm going to disagree. Basing a movie on killing every inconsiderate jerk we run across in life isn't that creative. Normally, that vice is appeased by a "creative solution" such as "I'm older and have more insurance."

Falling Down wasn't a simple 113 minute long gratuitously amoral murder spree after a terminal diagnosis from a doctor. It started off with a situation that movie goers could empathize/fear (laid off and unable to find a new job) and we watched the anti-hero transform from frustrated out of work divorced engineer to hero to vigilante to villain to horrified self-awareness and finally suicide-by-cop in subtle stages.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

It's not trying to be creative. It's not trying to be artistic. It's not trying to make a deep, profound statement.

It's simply a movie in which the protagonist does exactly what so many people have wanted to do for so long. It is essentially a video game on film but with no interaction. It's the movie everyone wants to see because everyone has wanted to do the exact same thing this guy is doing. If you can't understand that or if it isn't high-minded enough for you, go watch The Piano or something.

It needs to be a gratuitously amoral murder spree because these people deserve nothing less. Killing inconsiderate jerks like in Falling Down and killing giant wastes of air and space like everyone in My Sweet 16 Party or Jersey Shore are two completely different things, the latter being a necessity and the former being a tragedy.
