New launcher is killing my PC

My fan is working overtime with this new patch and launcher. I'm actually concerned that CCP is going to blow up my computer. I normally run 3 clients together without issue with my CPU at 70%. After this patch though, 1 client is spiking to 100% CPU down to 40% and all over the board. I spin my ship in station and CPU goes to 100%. I can't afford another PC at the moment, but I don't know what you guys at CCP were thinking implementing the launcher. I'm not techy enough to fix this issue on my own so how do I get a refund for a few years of subscriptions on multiple accounts? I'm only partially serious, I love EVE but this needs to be fixed ASAP.

Confirming the most recent launcher patch seemed to stabilize my PC. Although there are still some noticable spikes in CPU usage, especially upon undocking, changing systems, and opening in game windows. I am now able to run 3 clients together, at actually a lower rate of cpu then before the launcher. Keep tweaking, its almost better.

All I know is that since this craptatsic launcher updater bs my three clients in a worm hole running at once at a POS is like running on my old box, which was crap graphics and cpu. My new box used to run this game fine but now with three clients in a wh, with a GTX 460, quad core cpu and 6 gigs of Ram all three clients lag the **** out of all my resources and my fps drops to like 5. WTF ccp, unfuck this horrible update you did, cause this is like the last straw for me with this ******* game. You guys fix 5 things then break 6 more....

I agree this patch his horrible. I run 13 accounts and I could easily run them for 12 plus hours at a time on two computers. Last friday I ran 9 characters on my laptop for 6 hours without any problems. I never had any problems.

Now this garbage patch happens. My game crashes when only running two clients, even when sitting in a station. My eve mon crashes on a regular basis. I have reset settings, cleared all my cache files. Nothing is helping. I am about to try a complete re install and see if that helps.

CCP claimed this patch would fix many bugs. Maybe they fixed some but darn they have created way to many unacceptable ones.

I'm having issues too.

Random graphics stutter/lag - drops to about 3-4 fps when it happens.

Before the launcher was added it was smooth as:

2600k
2 x 560 in Sli. (+Dual monitors)
8gb ram
This system should not be having graphic stutters. PLZ fix ccp.

GPU temps are up by10-15%. Fans are working hard now.

I wanted to let you know that we have been looking into reports of performance issues since the release but the issue is not easily reproducible on all machines. We have an in-house reproduction for the issue you are describing but it would help us greatly if you could provide more information by filing a bug report: https://bugs.eveonline.com/newbugreport.asp

Please describe your specific hardware/situation such as how many clients or the amount of time spent playing before the issue happens. It is also helpful to give us a step by step guide in the 'reproduction' field in the bug report.

If you are filing the bug report from the link provided above then I would also appreciate screenshots of your EVE graphic settings and DxDiag report attached.

I would be interested to know if you close your EVE Launcher or leave it open with the game client running?

Or, CCP, you could just not use that launcher. Do you care about your player base or do you care about streamlining patching? In what fanciful imagination land did you think that it was a good idea?

You guys are hypocrites, what-ever happened to "the little things"? It's starting to look like you guys were bought out by blizzard.

At the OP... you can close the launcher once your client is running, but you have to wait to you're logged in otherwise your settings won't be there for some reason - atleast that's how it works for me.

How about stop whining and let them fix the issues? The launcher is here to stay. They provided a valid reason to use it and the game will benefit. Deal with it.

at one point they got rid of ship spinning, enough people whined and then they gave it back.

the launcher isn't going to help the game in the long run, Eve has been fine without it since 2003.

Ship Spinning has NOTHING to do with pushing game updates.

What I don't understand is what this has to do with the launcher anyway. Why isn't it only the client? Seems like a bug in the new client?
Can't you close the launcher?

Personally, I do not dare try to run more than one client currently. The first and only attempt to launch a second client blew up my EVE + Launcher installation and screwed my Windows so it took lots of anguished, desperate "wing-it" tricks and five restarts to get my PC going again. (and now it boots much slower, so something is still not right). It then took 6-7 hours to get the Launcher and EVE going again. Win-7 64-bit.

"Dear" CCP, when is it safe for me to try running a second client again? And how should I do it? Should I close the Launcher in-between?

The performance issues shouldn’t have anything to do with the launcher, the reason I asked if the Launcher was kept open was because so many people are attributing bad performance to the launcher. I have ran multiple performance tests with the Launcher kept open and closed and am unable to see any difference between the two tests.

You can close the launcher manually or in the launcher settings just select “Close the EVE Launcher after starting EVE ONLINE".

Please file a bug report if you are experiencing performance issues, I have detailed what information is needed and where to file the bug report in my post near the top of this page.

Can you please file a bug report with your EVE client graphic settings, the number of clients you use when your run into performance issues and attach a dxdiag to the report.

It would also be great if you could provide a step by step reproduction for your issue in the bug report i.e.

Reproduction Steps:

1. Login with account 1, undock from station
2. Login with account 2, open fitting screen
3. Notice the performance has now dropped

Bug report sent. I cannot attached screenshot as bug report only allows one file. I chose to attach dxdiag.

Skip the launcher and try running it from the bin folder. Exefile.exe is the file you wanna run.
That's how it's done for me now, I think CCP have to test the launcher alot more than throwing
the problem to the user base.

Peace is the way of my war.
