Its sounds too good to be true, which means its bullshit. I highly doubt even a % of what was talked about in that article even makes it into game, let alone during the winter expansion. Though I read the article yesterday so not sure whats been edited out. Will read it again Soon™

When I asked how they were then going to incentivize this behavior, the team didn’t have real specifics just yet.

Naturally. I mean we're only three months away from release.

I just have this god awefull feeling that they are going to release yet another half arsed expansion. promising the world and only delivering half of what they promised like "Incarna", the new enviroments that they are going to "rent" out will be interesting, im sure we will have to buy PLEX and AUR to pay that rent and buy the furniture and so forth, i just have a feeling the whole "greed is good" thing is going to raise its ugly head again, ........but i guess time will tell.

..basically it’s CCP’s way of shaking up the game’s balance because they feel like it’s become a little too predictable of late

"lol" what? THEY were the ones who broke it something horribly with Dominion, it is not something that has happened over time. The better analytical minds among us said the current state would be the most likely outcome of the fail-spansion.

But the hint was this: they’re going to rebalance each ship, and then make sure they have their own little “box” of space to play in.

Tiericide? Are they going to make the single most intense wet dream come true? .. Waiting for massive disappointment to hit when they not only drop the ball but manage to deflate it, run it through a shredder and serve it to us with a brand new colour scheme.

If they can pull off the original design intentions of Dominion, ie. focus on small scale fights as part of larger wars, it may just be enough to patch the gaping holes in this sinking ship called Eve.
Personally doubt it, they seem to have a knack for compromising the key parts of their master plans, making the past several "expansions" barely recognizable as such and definitely no where near the descriptions given in blogs ahead of release.

Haha, they haven't even finished Incarna(captains quarters, and establishments) and you guys think all this will be implemented this winter. Ugh

I'll get excited about this the very instant even one of these features actually go live on TQ. CCP have let us down with their "promise the world, deliver a disused parking lot" interviews once too often.

No, wait. 20 times too often. We've seen these grand plans before. No dount the guy you interviewed would like nothing better than to implement all these changes, but the sad fact is that the CCP management won't allocate the resources. If we actually see ONE of the features he's talking about, I'll be surprised.

They have no credit left. No one gives a **** about what they say any more. We're only interested in what they can actually do.

Deliver or GTFO.

Quote for the same mentality.

I am not bitter by any means and do not plan on leaving the game. I just do not think the current guides of this flagship know what they are doing.

Until then I'll be skeptical.

Same here. I'm doubtful, but if this expansion comes with most of the changes CCP claims, they've done well in my eyes and made good on regaining at least a part of my confidence. I don't speak for anyone but myself, but I expect the majority of the playerbase will also appreciate it.

A new expansion in the making already? Ah, that must mean incarna was finished and fully iterated upon afterall P

Seriously though, personally I'm going to ignore any press/marketing of any new expansion just so its either not a crushing disapointment when it rolls out or is a genuine surprize and interesting. Just in case though, can we please have some content in the next one CCP? Pirate

EVE will always and forever be mainly about space and flight. The Incarna process is really just a side-game.

What promises?

A gaming site runs an article about the new expansion AND the future plans for EVE, gets some of the details wrong (which CCP immediately pointed out), doesn't make a distinction between next expansion content and future content, and suddenly they are making promises they can't keep.

Really?

But that's the way these forums run. An idle comment made by someone not even necessarily a CCP employee and suddenly it's a promise chiseled in stone.

Get some perspective people. We'll find out the exact game plan for the next expansion in due time, but this article is definitely not it.

On the matter of the Tornado, while it's possible I missed it, I don't remember any promises about it being released this August either. If I did miss it, my apologies and please post a link.

For a better look at what this is about: http://emergentbehavior.tumblr.com/

For those who think this is an in game feature or has anything to do with EVE game development; this was made for the BOFFO Designing Fashion pop-up store in New York city. It simply uses our technology. Our engine was used to digitize a real life fashion model (yes, including the tattoos) and display designs made by Nicola Formichetti.
(From the 'WiS Catwalk' thread)

Still, yes, seeing is believing and all that.
