Well it's been a bit of a funny couple of weeks in the EU timezone. Some stroppy Russians moved in and for a little while while they found they were dominant before the euro's got in from work. By the time we'd had our evening meal sorted kids and given the wife a bloody good listening to, they were all off to dream of vodka and the new BMW RMT edition. All-in-all not tremendously satisfying for all concerned.

As this starts to sort itself out and people find things to do in the game we a subjected to a new strain. As a resident of Northern England we a faced with the sometimes annual arrival of a big yellow disc in the sky. In addition the sky turns from its familiar grey and wet appearance to an unfamiliar blue colour. The wife who has endured the long cold months of Eve winter campaigns decides that this is the moment to discuss bedding plants and colours for painting the fence.

Then we add into this heady mix the inability to accurately establish who is and isn't in local, when we aren't trying to work out how to move some ammunition from a hanger to a cargo bay, It all becomes a bit of an indication that perhaps you should mow the grass.

I suppose it's ironic that many, many column inches have been devoted to discussion of AFK campers on associated forums, and now they have been stealth implemented by CCP in the latest expansion/irritaion. I know recruitment is mostly closed but if you do want to try your luck then you really need to be a self-starter and be able to plot your own course when everybody else is trying to find the correct part of their inventory.

Roam 1

So we went on a roam last night. Although we lost a Fleet Issue Stabber do to lag. We ended up missing a tackle on a Nightmare, killing a Naga, and a Dominix. All and all it was an ok roam but to be honest, I despise losing ships to bad nodes, being unable to warp to any celestial, or MWD's not turning off. Like I always say, fix your sh!t before you implement more sh!t. I know it happens to everyone else also, its just unnecessary.

Roam 2
That being said, after my wife's honey do list was taken care of, I sneaked down to my man cave to see if I get a couple more kills in. Wouldn't you know it, the gang was coming back to drop off loot. They were full, they killed a Helios, Naga, Drake, Rapier and Talos without losing anything. The bad thing was is that I wasn't on any of those kills. I didn't hear my phone ring.

Roam 3
Since we had such good luck on the first two roams, we decided to head back and hit the same spot once again. This time we took about 6-7 ships, 2 Scimitars, 2 Frigates, 5 Damage dealers. The only problem is that these guys have been getting d!ck stomped so bad, they now want to play station games with Carriers. They say things like...what? Don't you want to play? All while having two carriers remote repairing 3 Drakes on station. HINT: Since you the one on the station, you are the one not playing.

Anyway, we decided to head down the pipe further and come back to see what our gimps are doing later. So we went to our favorite hunting grounds and started shooting everything we could on station hoping to get a fight. After about 10 minutes, they mustered up the same thing as the last group....Drake and Carriers. And yes, that is the best that the 47 in local could muster. I am not sure what AAA feeds their pets, but I think it makes them into candy @sses.

After deciding that a fight wasn't going to happen, we jumped into the next system...barely missing a Nightmare tackle. We jumped into the next system and landed on a Guardian 15km from the gate...so we killed him. We must have pi$$ed off daddy because local rose to over 30 with only 7 of us. This group had more Logi's sans 1, than we had people in our gang...so we bounced safes while they had probes out.

We were forced to send the logis the long way around and we made it out of the system intact. When we got to our original destination, they started smack talking and bubbling up the out gate. Here is the kicker, they dropped a carrier on the gate, had the other side laiden with snipers and tacklers, and then asked us to leave and never come back. A paradox...a conundrum. Ok, not really, lets just call them care bear idiots.

Although we lost a frigate to sniping Nags's, these idiots can't do anything without AAA showing them how. The ironic thing is that I remember when the corp only had 10 people in it and they were quite good.

Yesterday was rocking, I logged in after work and noticed that there was a gang of 10 in PVP 1 Channel. I muted my MIC and decided to be a voyeur for a while. Bull was scouting and had just jumped in to the target system to see a handful of drakes sitting on the gate. Bull said, they are starting to align, so he pointed one.

He said, jump in and start pointing people…Within seconds the entire gang was on top of the drake gang…the Drakes were scrambling to leave but 4 of them were caught. Systematically they went down the line, as Drake 1 popped, our Taranis pilot next grabbed a Helios who was decloaked. Boom.

Then Drake 2, Drake 3, Drake 4 down. About that time I hear point on Nemesis, then point on Manticore. Splash 4 Drakes, 1 Covert Ops, 2 Stealth Bombers. It was beautifully concerted and executed. What really pisses me off is that I wasn’t there for it.

Other singles that were killed include a Sabre, Raptor and a couple pods. Great work guys. Nice Scouting Bull. Although the FC wants to be anonymous…great job to that person also.

Our US TZ tends to have to go roaming to find fights because there often just isn't traffic through K-Q, which is great because most of the North Americans love to roam. As I've said before it can be very different in the EU TZ.

We are seeing some different faces at the moment because many of our usual fights are absent from Curse, probably hidden in wormholes on the test server trying out the umpteenth iteration of the Minmatar rush team or missile spam Caldari kite group in preparation for the upcoming Alliance Tournament. Yaay, go team whoever!!. This means we get something different to the usual Pod Based Lifeforms Gallente armour gang rolling through at 6.06 Evetime.

I'll take you though last evening;

7.00pm GMT
Me and everyone's favourite mute Geezer-bird Incorr are hanging around the CL gate when a 6-man EFT Warrior gang with Cynabals and a Falcon are spotted in CL. 14 in corp we ask for numbers and raise, well pretty much me and Incorr plus Mauldrid might be back in a minute. We let them pass and as they move though a couple more get active but they're gone.

7.20pm GMT
Everybody's favourite Snake Oil Salesmen enter CL. 14 Goonies with a nice looking gang. Hugginn, Rapier, Sleipnir, Sabre, two Scimitars, three Cynabals, four Canes and a Falcon for good measure. I'm thinking they might be looking for a quiet system to practice their Minmatar Rush tactics but they might be looking for a fight. The good news is that uber-CEO Sygma is back and there are signs of life from a couple more and we can raise a couple of Basilisks and a Drake or three. Still not enough really for anything but a fiery death.

7.30pm GMT
My wife is home from a late shift so I need to give her the customary bloody good listening to. Floating around I am able to pass on intel that there is an 18 man Solar Wing gang about to jump to K-Q. The wasn't any urgency as they had taken nearly half an hour to go 4 jumps from where they were first sighted. I got back in time to see them jumping out to RMOC.

7.45pm GMT
Sygma says this gang is completely killable as they have no logistics and only a couple of tackle and a very squishy Blackbird. The trap is prepared. I drop a large bubble on the RMOC gate to catch them when they come back. We rustle up more Drakes to give some missile spam with me and Sygma still in the Basilisks.

8.20pm GMT
We go over the plan again and again and pick up a couple more for the gang. Solar are spotted in Hemin heading back. Its on!!! The Drakes warp to their spot outside the bubble and the Solar scout reports their presence. The 19 man gang bail into K-Q scenting an opportunity for their mixed Drake and Cane gang. Mauldrid calling targets as the logistics warped at zero. Reemos was primary and dropping in his Drake. We got the reps on as the pain was applied elsewhere, and all seemed good. The neuts turned off Reemos' hardeners and he was licking armour. With me and Sygma overheating like mad we just kept him alive. The incoming DPS was dropping as one-by-one the Solar ships went down.
At this point the 3 Gypsy Band bombers chose to uncloak and whore on a few mails but the tide had already turned. GFs in local and the Solar survivors headed for CL. On a side note Raiden hot dropped them next door so probably not their best evening ever. As Sygma said that was the fight he had been looking for and everybody had fun. The final tally was eleven on our side against 18 with 3 randoms. 12 killed with 2 losses and a very healthy efficiency.

Since Melli got to the battle summary before me I will give you my small minded version of the same fight.

2:00pm GMT-5
I am working from home, doing real work solving ALL the problems the world faces. I solved world hunger , brokered peace in the middle east, fixed Greece’s economy, and over dubbed all of G.W. Bush speeches to make him sound moderately intelligent.

2:20pm GMT-5
My scout picks up the scent of a Goon gang coming through. Although I was still working diligently making my Ex President sound less ********; I mentally noted that if I saw this gang return that I will try to kill them. Scratched myself and went back to work.

2:30pm GMT-5
I finished working on my plan to have the Grecians up their work week to 6 hours, and delay their retirement age to 38 appeasing the German and French governments. I jumped out of the AFK channel when I caught wind of a Solar Fleet gang to kill that had finally made it from VOL-MI to RMOC.

2:45 GMT-5
I asked the 20 of us in channel who was active…8! So I put on my finest Winston Churchill face and bellowed. “WAS IT OVER WHEN THE GERMANS BOMBED PEARL HARBER!” Within seconds, we had 3 ruptures, 2 Catalysts, 1 Caracal, 1 Osprey Navy Issue, 1 Thanatos sitting outside station ready to take on an 18 man BC gang. As this point I thought my fellow A4D members were channeling a little George W. Bush.

2:47 GMT-5
I scratched my head and said lets try this again and called for FLEET Ships. I broke in a Panthero voice and shouted “THUNDERCATS HOAAAAA”. This time they undocked in 2 Myrmidons, 1 Ferox, 4 Omens, and a Coercer. I blinked multiple times, “docked up” , grabbed myself a Coke. and tackled the Middle East peace issue. My plan was simple. Supply everyone from Libya to Afghanastan with Cous Cous and Hummus laced Laxatives…It’s hard to fight when you crap all night? Problem solved.

2:49 GMT-5
So I say, ok. Lets try this again. Go to Corp. Fittings, Look up Shield Fleet ships, get one of THOSE. Oddly enough, this was the most difficult issue I have faced all day. Getting TEN whole people flying the ONLY ship that A4D requires that everyone have. This time, we are ready! But of course Solar Fleet was dragging their feet. They move slower than a sloth humping a porcupine.

3:10 GMT-5
Melli anchored a bubble toward where the bad guys will be coming, incorr gets a warp in spot so we don’t land in the bubble, we do something really prickish and fit all minmatar jammers on two falcons and put them in position. Game time.

3:15 GMT-5
Send the Drakes to the pos and I Take a Nap.

3:20 GMT-5
The Solar Fleet gang FINALLY jumps into RMOC and we send the drakes to their spot near the bubble on the RMOC gate. Now it looks like we have 8 taking on 18. Our guys land and the two basilisks align to the RMOC gate. When local spikes Melli and I warp to our fleet and Mauldrid Starts calling targets. I land first and start locked up Reemos whom Solar Fleet called Primary. We gave him a reps, established the cap chain and overheated.

The bad guys were determined to kill Reemos….he was in big big trouble. The Solar Fleet gang dropped drones, and put them on the basilisks. We called for the smart bombs ON and we popped the Solar Fleet EC-300 drones. We then called for the smart bombs OFF and dropped EC-300’s drones of our own. With our Falcons jamming and our Drones jamming, their DPS was cut in half. Reemos’s shields were now holding nicely and I knew we were winning.

Even though Mauldrid hadn’t called targets in 3 years he did a masterful job. I heard him call target after target and they were dropping fast. Thanks goes out to Solar Fleet for fighting, RCB and Faldy for jamming, Melli for dropping the bubble and volunteering to be in a Basilisk and everyone else for listening to Mauldrid. Thanks goes out to the rest of the team for the much faster scramble that I anticipated.

3:48 GMT-5
Ordered Pizza for the entire continent of Africa, put it on Greece’s bill.

World Problems Solved.

Last night was no typical Friday evening, usually on Friday’s we struggle to get a proper gang up. So we run with 3-4 and gank what we can gank and head to parts unknown. Feyth, Detroid, Wicked Creek, Stain. But last night the stars aligned as we all to logged on around the same time. SCORE.

Our scout picks up an Untamed Pony gang the next system over; they had about 10-12 mostly battle cruisers with blackbird support. So we formed the gang, took out four BC’s and had two Basilisks as backup. It was probably about even, their firepower and jams vs. our limited firepower and remote repairers. It ended up being a stand off neither side wanting to jump into the other. Fight didn’t happen.

Immediately after the Untamed Pony gang moved on, we had a few more guys log in. Now we were up to ten. We figured since we had not run an armor gang in a while, we would exit our shield fleet ships jump into Armor ships. Since we usually don’t run Armor gangs, our gang was eclectic at best. 2 Hurricanes, 1 Zealot, 1 Oracle, 1 Harbinger, 1 Stabber Fleet Issue, 1 Deimos, 3 Guardians.

We decided to see what was in Doril as WRG gave us a heads up of an EDEN Alliance camp in there. As we made it two jumps, we caught wind of the Untamed Pony gang returning home. (Coming our direction). We tried to set up a trap, but their scout got eyes on our guardians so they went around us through Jorund into Doril. We were about to hit Litom, when our FC said, “Lets see what is happening in Doril”.

So he jumped in and scouted out that Untamed Pony’s were fighting the Eden Alliance. Bull said “THREE WAY”, and we then jumped in and warped to the Sendaya gate. We managed to hold down a few of their shield gang but for the most part they were too fast. We tackled a Vengeance, Blackbird, and Hurricane. The end result, both gangs were off watching us loot up their stuff.

I guess Untamed killed a Tornado, Retribution, Rifter, Maller, Prophecy, Rupture, and Thorax. We simply looted everything. WINNING.

We dropped off loot and continued to the honey hole. It was quiet most of the trip, not a single ship was found. But since we had put an alt in their home system, we knew they had quite a few active members floating around.

Bull jumped in to find a Pilgrim 10k off the gate, the pilgrim engaged Bulls Oracle, and we splashed the Pilgrim. Legio then warped a Hurricane to the gate, so we killed him. Then they warped in a second Hurricane, so we killed him. Then a hound uncloaked…so we killed him, then a Rapier uncloaked so we killed him. We waited around for a few minutes to see what else would show up but they were done for now.

We moved down the pipe a jump or two, heading toward Querious. We decided to play with the Baby Seals so we detoured over a jump or so, when our scout Bull picked up a Hurricane jumping with him. Bull got the point on the Cane and we jumped in to back him up. We stuck around on the gate waiting to see what the Baby Seals would do, they undocked lots, but wouldn’t take it off the station.

About the time we were about to give up, and Devoter landed on the gate. We were expecting a hot drop, but the guy logged out directly after he jumped. So we burned him down…what I think really happened was he was supposed to bubble us up and hot drop us but he forgot his fuel and knew he was screwed. Now the Seals didn’t want to play any more so we decided to take all of our fine loot and head home.

The tri p home was really rather boring, we did however manage to kill a Viator that had jumped into our bubble. All and all a very productive night

GF

Wtf is GF anyway. Good fight? Who cares. I never say good fight in local. Why? Because I don't care. 85% of the time it wasn't a good fight, in fact it was a gank. 10% of the time, it was a delusional effort on one persons part or an inexperienced FC. Only 5% of the time do you look back and say.....DAYUM. That could have went either way.

Last night was 10%, I was scouting and there was a Vagabond, Scimitar, Rapier, Hurricane on gate. We tried to tackle and ended up having 2 Canes, 2 Vagas, Rapier, 2 Scimitars. There was no way in Gods green earth we could beat that gang with what we had. But the opponent said GF afterward.

Was it really? Nah, it was a stupid decision on my part as the scout to engage. I am now in favor of starting a new acronym for local. SHEDA (Shouldn't have engaged dumba$$), or perhaps GYHOOYA (get your head out of your arse), Either way, its all good. We will get them next time, I owe you one 3B.

So yesterday was the bonus Bank Holiday to celebrate the Queen being on the throne for 60 years so I can watch re-runs of the Royal Family floating down the Thames or perhaps I could play a bit of Eve. I log on to find that over night some people had got bored and started shooting at a small PoS in K-Q. They had incapped all the mods and it came out at 7.10pm UK time. Lav who had instigated this wouldn't be around but he wished us luck and Alex said he would ensure it went down, more of this later.

The morning saw only a couple of people on but I got to catch up with Alex who had been up 25 hours straight by then but was going to stay up until the PoS died. We were just hanging around the gates catching the unwary with a Sabre, a Stabber and my latest attempt to find something useful to do with the Eris' I found in my hanger (btw there is very little useful to do with an Eris). We snagged a few bits and pieces but nothing to get excited about. A Daredevil jumped in from CL a couple of times but got back to the gate with a couple of cheery words in local about how useless we were.

I like people who have to publicly tell how terrible you are as they tend to eventually make a mistake. Sure enough 10 minutes later he was back in what turned out to be the 'fast version' of his Daredevil. I had changed out for my favourite camp ship, the Hyena. He jumped and ran. The webs reached out to the full extent of Electronic Attack Ships V and slowed him enough for the other two to grab him. He died on the edge of the dictor bubble and the pod warped. This brought on a half-hour tirade from him about how terrible we were, what a disgrace we were to our corp and its traditions and how he was sure that we were far too interested in show tunes and soft furnishings. Whatever fella, we were just the g** campers that caught your ass.

After downtime there was a little bit more of the same until Bull logged on with a different agenda. We headed to the Honey Pot to poke the residents. Three Fleet Stabbers and a Zealot headed off to Catch. After a bit of poking about we got the bait Fleet Issue Tempest. We laid into him and he was at 15% armour when the cavalry arrived. Discretion was the better part of valour and Bull called for us to bail. It was too late for him but the rest of us got away. Bull returned in a bomber and scouted us twenty-odd jumps back home in time for me to cook an awesome risotto.

I logged back in around quarter to seven. Alex was obviously slumped in a pool of drool with a reverse image of QWERTY across one cheek. Sleep deprivation had obviously taken its toll. I check the PoS and the timer says 23 minutes. I ask on comms and in corp how many of the dozen people are active. There is a faint shuffling of feet and blowy wind sound effects. Ah well, with 7 minutes to go I create a fleet and Genetisch (who has to go to work soon) joins. As the timer ends I start shooting. Pleniers logs on and asks for ammo for a Tornado.

One of the images burnt into my memory is the barn building scene from Witness. As my missiles arced their way towards the tower more and more people joined to share the load. We ducked for cover as a couple of tasty gangs rolled through, not wanting to lose a bunch of tier 3s for some crappy Russian tower. If you shoot it they will come. It was great to see people pulling together though it was sad that they had taken all of the pimp fit Machariels out of the ship maintenance array.

Not long after we finish all sorts of people logged in asking if they had missed the PoS shoot. It was like they had a sixth sense. Then Lav logs on to say hi. I made him do Arnie impressions in his thick Eastern European accent as some sort of pay back for my lost hour.

You see, this is why I prefer A4D to never talk in local. For instance, the guy that Melli killed: Chris_Mas was offered a 1v1 before down time by Alex (something that A4D always honors). Chris however declined the invitation, and then decided to smack in local questioning peoples gender preference.

I mean seriously why would someone in a blob alliance question how we play the game? I find that the more people you have in your corp, the more followers you have. To be honest this is exactly what I want A4D NOT to be: http://eve-kill.net/?a=pilot_detail&view=kills&plt_id=898518&m=2&y=2012

What does he think? We sit down each night drinking Merlot and watching Evita with our life partners? Well chief I have some news for you chief its all home brew, monster trucks and strip clubs in A4D. (ok, I am married, but I do brew my own swill)

Recruiting Open!!!

Managing expectations: Most all corporation or alliances have specific goals in mind. Some build caps, some hold sovereignty, some like to pvp, but all of them generally has their own thing that makes them unique. A4D is no different in that regard, our thing is efficient killing. Pure and simple. We like to kill and not be killed, therefore we do our best to not lose ships unnecessarily.

June has been monstrously horrific in regards to our killboard efficiency. Contrary to the A4D policy of maintaining a person 85% killboard efficiency, we had a few members whom completely disregarded our rules and lost billions in a one man loot piñata exercises. That being said we had to let a few people go this month…I say this because if you can not adhere to this policy, A4D is not for you.

Being on Teamspeak whether AFK or not is another one of our 5 rules. Ironically, I find those players that like to do their own thing in corp. are never on Teamspeak. Don’t get me wrong, they are on when they need A4D, but not when A4D need them. That being said, I had to release a few more members for not adhering to this rule. If you can’t be logged in to TS, then maybe A4D is not for you.

More than a month, I had 6 members that had not logged in for more than a month, I checked and they didn’t hadn’t posted on our forums about their absence, and neither bull or I got a note saying they would be out. So I removed all six members from corp. This is not an alt corp. and even if you have RL issues coming up, they should have sent me a note, eve mail, forum post, screen shot…etc etc.

That being said, the summer is here and we are opening up recruiting once again. Typically I prefer to open up recruitment to 10 players at a time. Due to us having vastly more EU players than North Americans I am thinking I may need 6 North Americans and 4 EU players roughly (It isn’t an exact science). To be considered you must be able to adhere to the following:

1) Be on Teamspeak (whether afk or not)
2) Fly with the rest of the corp. (Not with your buddies in venal)
3) Have the required fleet ships at all times.
4) Maintain 85% Efficiency (you may want to fly cheap during trial)
5) Adhere to A4D Loot policies.

This weekend our corp sponsored a contest for it's members. The contest is to see who can get the most expensive kill. The catch?? The kill must be solo and it must be in a tech 1 frigate. This has turned out to be a lot of fun for those that have participated and inspirational enough to motivate others to join in. The contest is still going on but I thought I would write about my first attempt at it tonight.

Kill 1
My frigate of choice tonight was the kestrel. I spent a few minutes fitting it out while listening on comms to some others as they were finding fights. I set out toward Doril to begin with and ran into a couple of large gangs which I promptly ran from. I decided to try my luck in Catch. I got my first shot in V-3YG7. I am heading to my out gate when I pick up a crow on scanner. I decide to wait on the gate to see if he comes to my gate. Sure enough a few seconds later he lands at the gate. I waited for him to lock me and I returned the favor. Since I was rocket fit I knew that I had to get a scram on him quick in case he was fit for range or I could never kill him. I closed quickly but in part it was because he was also rocket fit and was gunning for me. This is exactly what I wanted. He got me to about half shields, but in the end my dps and buff was more than he could handle. He was a good sport so sadly I did not get any hate mail.

Kill 2
Local has increased at this point so I am assuming they are hunting for me to get revenge. I decided to bounce some spots and post my mail on our killboard. Once posted I head to the hy- gate to jump out. While there, I hit scan one last time to see what I could find. A jaguar popped up on the directional. I was very close to another gate in system and narrowed down the scan to see if he was there. Woot! he is there. I warped to gate expecting him to be on the gate and we would be at close range for me to get my scram on him. Instead he was off the gate at 11km. I closed the distance scrammed and fired. Shortly thereafter I have my second kill for the contest.

Loss
I took a long solo roam down to teneriffis, impass, etc. There was not much activity so I head back to our home system. While en route I notice a hulk de-cloaking 32 km from me after jumping in. Too far for me to catch so I follow him in warp. On the next gate I miss again. The third time is a charm and catch him at the 3rd gate. I had him down to 1/4 shields when in warps a daredevil to help him. I kept my scram on the hulk and switched damage to the daredevil...but alas the kestrel was just no match. It was a good run with a 27 mil and 41 mil kills.

Currently the most expensive kill is over 80 mil. Time for some sleep and tomorrow I will try it again. Anyone have a juicy hauler they want to donate to the cause?

Friday Roam

We had some guys move in a couple systems away, although they have numbers it was our plan to see if they would fight. So we went over, did our best to get them to engage, but they simply wouldn’t engage. So there we were stuck with 3 Basilisks, a heavy interdictor and some shield fleet ships.

We decided to take the gang down to Catch and see what trouble we could get into. Since we only had 11 guys, we decided that we would just go down, pick a fight and leave, we know if we stick around too long they could muster up 30-40…something that we were not prepared to engage.

Our scout found a group of about 20 camping the V-3 gate in B-3, we were on the U-Q on the B-3 gate. We knew they were there, but they didn’t know we were there. We jumped 3 BC into local as well as our Heavy Interdictor, and re-approached gate, within a second or two a Tempest Fleet Issue land on gate and aggresses.

We jump the rest of the gang in and killed the Tempest…. we knew it was coming but the gang they brought just kept pouring in. By this time they had well over twice our numbers. Since I was flying the logi the enemy wasn’t on my overview but I was taking some heat so I knew they were there.

They deployed their ECM drones on me and the Logi called for Smartbombs ON, I got jammed by the drones, and the other two logi were overheating to keep each other alive. By this time all their drones were dead. We dropped our own ECM drones and started jamming them out. They brought in a Falcon and jammed me again.

Once again the other two-logi pilots were working overtime to keep people alive. We ran the falcon off and re-established the cap chain. By this time half of their DPS was gone and we had lost only one ship. We managed to loot what we could and motored on back home with full cargos, as a big AAA blob chased. Good Times

I am really proud of my fellow A4D members this weekend. A4D had a corp event where the member that killed the highest isk amount while flying a T1 non-faction frigate would win prizes. I am truly honored to get to fly with these people every day, thank you for rocking out this event.

First Place: Pleniers killed a Dramiel while flying in an Incursus. In fact, earned so much admiration from his foe, that he came to our public channel and volunteered to be Pleniers personal attaché. True story.
Kill: http://www.appetite4destruction.net/killboard/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=34546
Prize: Basilisk

Second Place: incorr put her foot over the throat of a Hound and slapped him with her riding crop of doom. No seriously, her Punisher was named Riding Crop; also a true story.
Kill: http://www.appetite4destruction.net/killboard/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=34483
Prize: Stealth Bomber of her choice.

Third Place: TylerJames(Mr Holdmydrank) whom banked left, banked right, kept at range, orbited his way to a hard fought victory over a Jaguar with is Rocket Kestrel of DOOOOOOOOM.
Kill: http://www.appetite4destruction.net/killboard/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=34547
Prize: Stealth Bomber of his choice.

A new contest in destroyers kicked off today. I chose a coercer and set out down the pipe with no destination in mind. I was just looking to run upon a random fight. I jumped into F8k-WQ and the gate was camped by a vexor, incursus and a rifter. I decided to try and kite the incursus and rifter away from the vexor, so I looked around for the direction I needed to head in. I decloaked and mwd in that direction. As expected they all followed and I was soon out of the vexor's range. I locked the incursus first and popped him quickly. Next came the rifter and he followed suit. Both of them together only got me to half shields. I decided to engage the vexor and got him to around 20% structure before he warped. I had tried to bump him off the direction he was aligning to, slow his warp, but I was too late.

Jihad Fleet

We flew what we call a Jihad fleet this evening. A Jihad fleet for those of you that don’t know is a T1 Cruiser roam with the entire purpose of not returning home alive. So we set out to find our quarry.

We spotted a system with 32 people in it…so we set waypoint. The only problem….23 bubbles on gate, Machariel, Roqual, 6 Hulks on scan. Due to the fact it would have taken my glass cannon Thorax 20 minutes to clear the bubbles, I didn’t bother, and headed out. Imperial Legion seems a tad bit paranoid for some reason.

So we struck out at carebearville, I spot a system that had 92 in it…. so we set waypoint to whatever its name was. Since I was scouting, I jumped in to see seven in system. Bingo, just what we were looking for. I motored back to the gate to look like I was trying to get away, and then jumped out…nothing followed so I went back in.

This time I noticed 17 in system. YES, its go time. I motored on back to the gate and noted they had a blackbird, 4 Canes, and a Drake…and 14 other random whatitschmuckits. I jumped out and they followed. We didn’t notice we were on a regional gate…. oops. We were all over the place as were our enemies.

The blackbird de-cloaked first so we all went after him but he warped before any of us could get to him. So the FC called to point something, anything. Unfortunately I was only 3k from the Drake and I called the point on Drake. Although that is not our first choice of target, we managed to finally get all of our DPS on him.

We went down the line slugging away, we would lose a cruiser, they would lose a bc, it went back and forth our drones slaughtering every frigate we could kill. Eventually we just ran out of ships. We knew we weren’t coming back and it was one hell of a brawl, but alas we didn’t hold the field.

Kills: Drake, 2 x Hurricanes, Hawk, 2 Catalyst, 1 Thrasher, 3 Rifters
Losses: 2x Vexor, Thorax, 4 Ruptures, Blackbird.

Although we were out numbered 10 to 18, all and all it was a fun brawl, and it probably could have went either way. That is why I love Jihading.

At the beginning of this year, A4D was ranked 221 on Battleclinic. Not bad considering we don’t shoot POS’s, we don’t have blue’s and we don’t do blob warfare. To be honest, we hold our own vs. anyone our size, and most of the time we brawl outnumbered and more often than not we win.

To be honest we are really kicking major arse this year, I am blessed to have really awesome pilots in our corp. We are currently ranked 136 on Battleclinic and are about to pass up FinFleet and Sharks with Freaking Laser Beams two very good corps.

I like being the scourge of Curse, it makes me happy to know that although not many know who we are out side of this region….once they are there they know who we are. We are the ones with our boot up their arse.

Day three of our Destroyer Event, I hadn't had much time to roll around in my Coercer for a while so I decided to see what kind of trouble I could get in to. I went to Hemin where this large band of worthless slugs had moved in. I guess their titans weren't online and they were too chicken sh!t to engage anything. So, after waiting for anything frigaty to get within death range, I got bored and went to YKE.

As I was in warp, I caught a Thrasher on scan near the YKE gate, I wanted to make sure I didn't have a giant suprise on the other side so I jumped in....a second thrasher was on gate. I said...meh, what the hell. So I changed my orbit to 15km, and started orbiting the second Thrasher, 4 volleys later, Thrasher 1 was dead. Around that time the second thrasher jumped in, I figured if it worked once it would work again, I orbited homie at 15k and opened fire.

He was in armor by the second volley, but this one wasn't trying to stay long range, this one was trying to get close to me....I saw his speed jump up a bit and I popped him right as he shut off my microwarp drive.......and of course by design, his mwd was still running making him very very easy to hit.

869,834,000 isk
I log in to coms and hear about a retribution and claw in our home system. Mestophocles and Dirty Sansha's are in rifters hunting them down. I jump in a coercer and come out to play with them. The "bad guys" head to the Cl- gate and we pursue. After unsuccessfully getting a fight I align back to station and up on scanner pops a tengu and then another tengu. I warp to station to switch out ships. Mestophocles and Dirty Sanshas are engaging the tengus as one of the tengu pilots ponders in local about how long it might take to kill a rifter. Our rifters don't have the dps to take him and the tengu pilot cannot kill the rifters at least not easily, but they attempt to let him "think" he can kill them. This keeps their attention long enough for me to get in a typhoon. When I arrive on gate I am to close to bump him so i mwd away from him. At this point he starts to de-agress as I turn and mwd toward him at full speed. I get an okay bump on him...enough to get him out of jump range. I take another shot at it and get a nice hit. He realizes his fate and redboxes again and eventually dies to our two rifter pilots, my typhoon and kogelbiefstuk in a maller.

677,458,000 isk
This event woke a few up on coms that turned into an impromptu t1 cruiser roam to Impass. Most of the route was dead until we run into system after system with lots of bubbles on all the gates. In one of these we encounter a megathron on our out gate. We are all in the pull bubble and about to engage when our scout, Sygma, jumps out to see his buddy in a macherial. While we were willing to take on one....two was just a bit much so we bail out. We continue on and while Sygma is scouting ahead we get a jump in at our gate. A tengu decloaks, we get points and scrams on him and he redboxes me. The FC had called to carry ecm drones. I only had about 8000 shield hp buff on my moa and our drones had not been able to jam yet. Of course I am scram'd and webbed and right on top of him so no getting out. I fully expect to die so I am overloading my top rack before we lose the dps from my ship. At about 71% structure our drones get off a jam. It is all that is needed to keep me alive and in the fight till the end.

74,611,100 isk
My ship is smoking as we head back home. Along the way we run into the megathron pilot who is now in a harbinger and a friend of his in a raptor. We are very near his home system that has about 40 in local. Sygma calls to keep running until out of their system by at least one jump. We do so then reapproach gate. He jumps in and we take him down and the raptor gets away.

Not alot of kills but it was still fun and we got some high isk kills.
