Last night was mildly successful. We started up a shield logi fleet, our goal was simple. We would roam past Hemin to see if WG wanted to engage, if not we would head toward GJO and see if any of the Rookie Empire guys were active. Well, at least that was the plan…sometimes plans work, other times you are stuck with a giant pile of shite. In this case it was the shite.

One of the problems we had was, most of the people in my corp. ignored the fact that to run a logistics fleet, they have to have a logi ships. So we finally found 3 people who could fly the damn ships, and headed out for a roam. One hour later were on our way. No ****…one hour. (Recruiting Logi Pilots)

As planned we headed down to find a Rookie Empire gang to engage…and as luck would have it, they didn’t want to form up. They were stuck in their posses doing unimaginable things to moons. All dressed up with nothing to shoot.

We headed back toward home as now we had limited time and a few people in our gang had to go bed. As we meandered on the way back toward home, we had intel that the Wraithguard guys were massing up a huge BS gang to take on our Eve Animal Control friends. So to help our boys we set sail.

We moved the 10 jumps as fast as we could, trying to get in a position to help. I think we moved one too many jumps because once we hit Litom, the WG scout picked up that EAC had backup. The WG gang docked up…I think the major issue was that the EAC guys had all minmatar, and we came with a Caldari gang….kinda hard to jam with minmatar jammers..(WG had 5 Scorpions).

To make a long story short…They didn’t want to engage with even numbers. They seem ok when it is 17-10, but when it is even, they don’t engage. In fact I don’t ever remember an even engagement with them. Lots of smack, but no engagement. Shite happens.

0 Kills, 0 Losses….DAMN

Thanks to Eve Animal Control for inviting us to help them with the brawl that never came. And thanks even more to Tyler James, Maximus, Cythrex for FC’ing at various times. Your help was appreciated. And Shinob…you need a serious intervention my friend. (Seriously)

Arrow It seems we upset generally most people in Curse , more often than not it's the " BIG BOYS " renting out to the mission farming whores who seem to dislike us the most . Not that we are ever a threat , we are after all just a small corp , but we do like to make life as difficult for them as we can , and make doing so , great fun for us . The general mission farmer seems to abuse EVE of its intelligent gameplay by fitting the most obscene ships , so I think A4D does the EVE community a service by removing such stupidity

First 4 days of March have been kind to us... Over 300 kills and counting!

And on a side note, on March 4th our home system was 3rd most violent system in Eve according to dotlan (top 2 were alliance brawls somewhere in Insmother and Tenerifs).

Carnage, unadulterated pure carnage.

Last month we set the A4D record for number of kills in a month. Not only was it a record, it was a record in a short month. I think we have a couple reasons for the increase in productivity. I think I have narrowed this down to two distinct causes.

1) Historically our European time zone was a bit on the undermanned side, we have always had quality pilots, but we had never had this much quality of depth. The kills that these gents are getting is quite amazing, they are doing things now that only the North American time zone were capable of. In fact, the European group has been absolutely throttling everything that passes by…big or small. They are a great bunch of guys. They are A4D through and through.

2) Logistics: A4D has been a brawling corp. for years. We show up, we punch you in your snout, we loot your crap and go. We have become pretty good at fighting similar sized gangs. Although we sometimes had delusions of grandeur about what we could or could not kill, we were mostly slug it out corp.

We now seem to have enough people to pull off Logistic gangs quite easily. We figured out some things that other people take for granted. 3 Basilisks are better than two, 4 Are better than 3. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Those are the two main reasons why we are entering a new golden age of A4D. We are thinking we want at least 5 more active pilots over the two timezones, this will allow us to form up without skimping on the nice to haves…Heavy Interdictors, Falcon, Tengu, Loki bonuses.

These are just some of the things we did this weekend:

In the immortal words of Major Payne: Killing is our business and business is good.

I have been doing "Like a boss" corp shite as of late, when I have played I have been stuck in a Basilisk. I missed this roam last night but this is what happens when our five Dramiels meet their Hurricane, and Curse.

Today finds me approaching the end of my second month in Curse and A4D approaching 600 kills in the eight days of March so far. All sorts of possibilities stretch ahead of us and choices to be made. For some of us the lure of a steady stream of people to catch and kill in the K-Q camp is too strong and rarely leave system.

Shyla Styles was on an intrepid adventure into Catch last night and reported a possible target. When the system was identified as being 11 jumps away it was said that if we can barely manage to get to the RMOC gate how on earth did he think we would make 11 jumps to possibly kill something.

All of this slaughter in K-Q, which is regularly one of the most violent systems in 0.0 according to Dotlan, takes place whilst our more adventurous souls range through Providence, Catch and beyond bringing Guerilla-style A4D loving to those residents who thought themselves beyond harm's way. Their exploits have been well documented in previous posts.

What I enjoy in Curse is the variety of fights available. Oh there are plenty of one-sided ganks by us but if you want honourable duels I think Singularity is the place or possibly try dropping cans on the undock of the Emperor Family station in Amarr. If you blobbed us we didn't have enough in gang. If your Falcon jammed us we should have fitted ECCM. If we could not break your logis we needed another tactic. 0.0 has no rules and that is what makes it fun. Alongside the ganks we have the problems of bomber gangs trying to take out our tackle, Nano gangs to be slowed down, Logi gangs to be countered and trying to slim down large groups passing through.

All-in-all there is rarely a dull moment in A4D and when they do come along we can always debate topics such is Incorr (who never speaks on comms) actaully female as she claims or really a neckbeard called Colin? and does she type so well because of the extra digit East Anglians are famed for?

Frankenstein’s Monster

During the reformation of A4D in 2010, Bullmastiff, Suxar, and I defined what we wanted out of A4D. The three of us sat down and discussed what we wanted from a corporation, and what we didn’t want from a corp. Of course this was not an all encompassing conversation, we drew pieces from other corps that we were associated with which is the “Frankenstein’s Monster” business model.

The Collective: The truly good thing about the collective is their research on their members. G Block was thorough and quite the talented researcher. The problem? NOBODY knew my name. I had more kills than the majority of the people I flew with…but they never bothered to get to know me. LESSON: Research Members to exclude idiots, Know your corp. mates.

0utbreak: I flew with 0utbreak for a short time, I really liked everyone in the corp., it is truly a great corp. filled with great players, excellent tactics, a unique corp. market. The only problem I ran into was the fact that I was one of four North Americans. Although I can solo; Eve is a social game. I no longer play for the kill but to hang out with the guys. LESSON: Actively pursue across multiple time zones, Corp. Market.

Clown Punchers: For a year, the BOZO’s terrorized Curse, Wicked Creek, Catch. They were about 20 strong, they were organized, they were deadly. They had an excellent loot distribution system. They had a strong central leadership…They had a unique recruitment philosophy. The only thing I didn’t like about the corp. was the obvious dependence on their Co-CEO’s. If T and Q weren’t online nothing would happen. LESSONS: Loot Redistribution, Non reliance on personalities, Recruiting Smarter.

We decided that we wanted to incorporate pieces of all of these corps but not be like any of them. We wanted to be open to change, if something wasn’t working do something different. Although Bullmastiff and I don’t always agree with each other, we talk it over, and come up with a solution. We don’t see ourselves as Co-CEO’s but rather, the caretakers of A4D.

Management: Bull and I share responsibility for ISK, and keeping drama to a minimum. Like Bozo, we have 4 senior members that handle loot distribution and ship ships, logistics.

Recruitment: We have a process just like most alliances, we check API’s, we check forum history for toon sales, we check forum posts to check for players as corp. thieves, we check Battleclinic for kill history etc…its not a fast process but we like to keep idiots out of corp.

Recruitment Advertisement: Instead of posting look at us, we are better than the next guy on the forums, we tend to blog our nightly kills if possible to let people live vicariously through our posts. This is what we did, if you would like to be apart of it, contact us. It is different than most, and works for us.

Membership demographics: Obviously a corp. in a single time zone will be strong at certain times and week at other times. We didn’t want to lose out on people because they lived here or there…so we came up with a plan…18:00-06:00. This would cover us from Central Europe to West Coast North America. And for the most part that is who we have in corp. (although we always accept Aussie’s because they are so cool) 

Corp. Loot: We decided that if there were a few of you in a gang…keep the loot, you earned it. But if you have a large gang and are out on a corp. op…pay out your losses first, then throw the loot in the loot hangar. We use the proceeds to buy more items from empire and always guarantee a full market for our members. Some call our home system the Jita of Curse.

Killing Regardless of who is online: Bullmastiff and I have not been on much this week. We both have some RL things. I have logged on twice to find that there were gangs out that had neither CEO in them gang. These guys were murdering everyone on their own…and THAT is what A4D is all about.

As a Co-CEO I am incredibly proud of this corporation. We may not be perfect, but we are striving to be. We have moved up on the all time corps list to number 170. Considering we are not a POS bashing corp. nor do we engage in 200 person blob fests, this is quite a feat. Our goal by end of year is to be a Top 100 corp. on Battleclinic. At this rate we will achieve our goal.

For the first time in a few weeks I had a chance to head out and do some PVP last night. We decided to hit Providence. Usually they send 300 battleships including more Scorpions than we have in our gang. This time they had even numbers and didn't force the engagement. So we decided to stick around....and get a few little kills.

Most everything we killed was junk to be honest. But then it happened....my Carriage turned into a pumpkin. Once I got to bed, they get a freaking Tengu kill.

I love this corp.

I had to link this: Armor Shield Tanked Rapier
http://www.appetite4destruction.net/killboard/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=29748

On another note: Our Efficiency this month is roughly 89%, our kills number at 647 for the week, our battle clinic ranking has went up to 169, ISK Damage Inflicted: 38 Billion ISK Damage Taken: 4.56 Billion.

Two fleets, two wins, two mistakes.

Like the great Mike Tyson once said, “Everybody has a plan until they are punched in the mouth”. Those words hold as true today as they did twenty years ago. So our plan was simple. The gang we were looking to kill were sitting on the AAM gate with 6 Drakes, 2 bombers and what we thought was a Cyno Maller. We brought 5 Drakes, 2 Basilisks.

The plan was simple. We warp 3 Drakes in, get them agressed, call for backup. The plan would have held true if I had been called primary like I expected. However, Draco was called primary and never let me know they were red boxed on him. Needless to say, we waited too long to bring in the logi’s…Draco died. We did manage to kill a few. Pardon the wonky killboard display, but you get the idea. Ignore the hero tackle from the covert ops. Nice to meet you Jagged Alliance.

http://www.appetite4destruction.net/killboard/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=29947

I am not overly sure who these Krysis guys are, but they keep coming through our home system with 6-12 man fleets, and leaving with less than they came with. It’s nothing against them, they just happened to be there. This time they came through with a Brawler fleet of 12 battle cruisers. We had just returned from our fight with Jagged and thought we would give these guys a try.

Our mistake was obvious. Our intel came from 3 sources, all three gave irrelevant intel. You know the kind, fleet on scan on the gate. They are jumping, (in pops a Kestrel). The kind of bullsh!t intel that gets gangs killed. In this case, all it did was expose the fact that we had logi’s. Which is NOT a good way to get fights.

Regardless of our lack of surprise, they did jump on us. The two Basilisks were keeping up with the damage quite easily. Contrary to other A4D engagements, we had 4 ships tackled instead of one! Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough DPS to kill all of them as a couple of them de-aggressed and jumped out. Needless to say, we controlled the field again.

http://www.appetite4destruction.net/killboard/?a=kill_related&kll_id=29939

At the end of the day, I am proud of my guys for their efforts. Alex and Melli did a great job keeping the reps on. Pleniers did a great job tackling, Shyla did a great job taking with backup target calling, Everyone else did a great job hitting F1.
