Various fighter questions - is there a "best" one?

Stupid question I know, but is there a best fighter to load up a carrier with? I've been looking over the stats on the 4 types, and seen they all have the same DPS - so it must come down to tracking and damage type.

The Minmatar drones have the best tracking and explosive is a nice damage type, this would seem to make them the best choice overall - but do they orbit close enough for falloff to be a nonissue?

Edit: also, I've seen people refer to Dragonflies as severely handicapped by their tracking. Is this true?

And yes, I'm aware that a carrier's job is RR, but at some point I am quite likely gonna be sitting back and assigning fighters to people so I'd just like some opinions from people with actual experience.

Einherj for PvP

Firbolg for PvE

Dragonflies are sloooooow and their tracking is poor

Templars are rubbish all round, unless you simply must do EM damage.

Apparently so I was told dragonflies are borked, they dont even work so well against guristas. Normally i'd go for furbolgs but the minmatar one is like you said pretty good too. I guess this rule of thumb works best on t1 Thermal-shield / kinetic-armor and explosive, electromagnetic.

Hope that helps.

If you have the skills to then run a mix of drones. Its not good to limit yourself to only 1 damage type especially in PvP
