I have just skilled up to fly an orca and had a few questions before i purchase one. I have tried to look up on forums about the orca which has been helpful but i had a few things i couldnt find.

Here goes,

1. can my corpy or fleetmate land in the shipbay without being undocked from their ship ?
1A. if yes, when they log off does it mean they will be transported about by the orca (like a mobile station?)

2. can i give anyone access to different areas such as cargo hold, shipbay etc.. or do they have to be in my corp?

3. what are they like aligning (with nano's fitted)

thanks for looking

As a former orca owner i can tell you a few things about em.

1. You cannot take a piloted ship into your orca. In space, the requirements to pull in an ship is that it is unpiloted and that its cargo bay does not include anything that isn't ammo. You cannot use the ships cargohold while its in the maintaince bay (unless its ammo).

So saddly, no you cant have someone piggy back in your orca like a station. they have to get their own lazy ass to where your going. This is true for all ships with a hanger as well... sorry.

2. only you can access your drone/cargo/ore/ship bay. The corp hanger can be accessed by anyone who has permission though.

3. They aren't a freighter... but don't plan on quick getaways either.

No, the ship bay can only store players ships, not the players themselves. Upon storing their ship in the Orca, they will be ejected into space in their pod.

You can only give them access to the corporate hanger and ship maintenance bay, the cargo hold is off limits to everyone else. Access is based on corporate roles, so your CEO effectively dictates who can access the corporate hanger, though while in a fleet you can offer limited access to non-corp members though a menu item when right clicking on the Orca.

Faster than a freighter but slower than an industrial. Ugh Not sure to be honest, never flown one.

3. if you use a powergrid increasing mod or rig you can fit a 100mn MWD, with a pulse of that each time you try to enter warp you will have 10s align.

(best way to max out cargohold while having a mwd is with a rig because a low gives more cargo then a rig)

MWD in med with 1 anciliary current router gives you a 10 second align. I'd suggest a DCU in the lows, it just about doubles your EHP.
