Hello,


I am having a couple issues with WINE 1.3 and was wondering if someone else are having these issue..


1-when playing my client is lagging my system down

2-It does not see my Nvidea(Gigabytye) GTX 560 card it only sees a Nvidea 8300 something.


System:
Ubuntu 11.10
8gigs ram
1gig Nvidea GTX 560
AMD FX Quad Core 3.8 ghz

Any help would be appreciated any help for my Wine not to chug while i am ingame.

2 - I had the same issue, but upgrading to a newer wine solved that problem for me.
1 - might be related to 2, but I can't be certain. I have somewhat weaker specs for the rest of my pc, but my system runs fine, even with 2 clients open. I however am using Arch Linux and not Ubuntu. Maybe try to turning off fancy desktop effects (if you have them on).

Some older WINE versions failed to recognize (and activate the advanced code paths) a lot of the newest nvidia cards.

You can safely upgrade WINE to the latest version - at time of writing, it's 1.4-rc6. For Ubuntu there's an easy ppa to add. Be sure to keep the nvidia drivers updated, too.

1-Katrina Bekers/Nebu Retski You were both right 1.4 rc6 did fixx my issue of eve seeing my Video card

That said i had 2 problems in the End i only had a 32Bit version(Chip was a 64 Bit)

The lag was not from Wine but from the Video card not being detected correctly in Ubuntu.. which once that happened(and also reinstalled the 64bit version) my Video card works like a charm everything @ high.
