Bring "line of sight" into PvP, and allow "friendly fire" if a fleet member should get between you and your target...
You could then use collideable structures and asteroids as cover, and break up the blobs abit... Lol

Something I've also thought about but there is a lot to consider in implementation.

What happens in high sec if you engage a target you have aggression on but that ship then takes cover behind a neutral ship? I think this would prevent friendly fire from being implementable, but perhaps just misses for targets not in line-of-sight is viable.

But when you consider that - do missiles still track around objects? Do Drakes and Tengus really need to be made better that way? What?

Encourage your fleet members to leave Auto-Target Back turned on and you will get plenty of friendly fire :)

I know that I'll be infinitely flamed for this bu-ut...

Some kind of battleground or arena system, like other MMOs.

I love EvE. It is superior to other MMOs in almost every way. The only problem is that when you have ADD and are an action junky, you want quick access to fights to keep yourself entertained. I would love to be able to log-in, explode a few times or blow up a few fellow pilots in under 5 minutes. The places were you can do this in EvE are few and far between, and the fights are never against even odds, like they are in the battlegrounds and arenas of other MMOs.

I think you should still have to risk your ship, obviously. I love the fact that PvP in EVE involves some kind of risk, and for that risk your reward should be module drops and kill mails. Many of us roll those dice at every opportunity and love it.

EVE is a game that requires a lot of patience, and to those of you have it, I tip my cap. Undoubtedly those of you who have such patience and enjoy the pace of the game now would find any sort of arranged, match making, arena-like fight system unacceptable. My only question to those of you who enjoy ship to ship combat is, "How can more explosions be bad?"

I know, I know. You think that any kind of convenience dumbs down the game in an attempt to appeal to the simpleton audience, and it's not nearly hardcore enough for you, but I really think that a system like this could help get a huge number of slightly more casual players into the game, and isn't growth something that we all want for a game that we love? ...well, except the hipsters.

Alright, flame on.

You say this as if its a good thing. Roll
Sure it might bring in couple more casuals. But it will drive away 10 times that number of the current players.

If you have problems finding fast pew pew, park your ass on a planet in the nearest crowded lowsec system.
I promise it wont be long until you start exploding.

Well, it would definitely make High Sec more interesting. I would say that unless you "intentionally" target someone - including passive targeting - there is no reason for Concord to get involved. Friendly Fire and "Collateral Damage" does happen. It would take a well purposed and well placed attempt to gank a neutral with friendly fire. Seriously, once weapons begin to fire people will naturally move out of the way. You can't scram or web them without being introduced to Concord, but even the softest Carebear shouldn't be flying around with no tank... IMHO.

I would change the actual "bounty grinding" Security Status System for a Plex based one where you can use ISK to pay for your crimes. From -10 to 0 using 2 plexes sounds fair

It will make high sec more dangerous, it will improve low sec pvp experience and a lot of isk will be burnt.
