...apart from everybody I know hating me, will I be able to play eve on it?

No and yes.......

I use Splashtop Desktop Remote to play Eve on my iPad, but.....

I set a separate client for it at iPad resolution and use Eve in full screen mode. It can be difficult to hit correct buttons on the interface and even more difficult to do things like selecting an installation for bp jobs (Have to use the Keyboad arrows to get what I want) It takes a bit to get used to the splash top interface too.

So it can be done, but diminishes the Eve experience by making the UI more difficult than it already is, crappy graphics even over fast connections, and lag. Not to mention the PITA of keeping an updated client just for the iPad.

to hell with eve, just look at dotlan whilst playing eve on your main computer!
