Audio crashing session

Hello,

This may be something that's been addressed, but I could not locate it.

I just recently got back to the game, and am using my linux box for it.
(Linux Mint 11 with a GT 430 and some crappy built in audio card)
running through Wine 1.2.2

Most everything works OK, except for the captains quarters (which I didn't like and disabled), but audio crashes me as soon as I log in with a character, unless I disable audio completely.

It basically starts up, but starts a repeating loop, like a stuck record (showing my age here), and quickly freezes everything up. I have to kill wineserver to get out of it.

I don't see anything within the audio section of wine settings that immediately comes to mind as being able to fix this. I have removed pulseaudio just in case it was the culprit, but that has not resolved anything, either.

If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate it. Playing eve silently is just kinda wierd.

WINE 1.2.2 you said?

Upgrade to 1.3.26.

Do NOT upgrade to 1.3.27 - there are known, crippling bugs.

Try again and post the result.

Uh what? What kind of bugs? I got Eve running on 1.3.27 right now.

Open your eyes. And awaken.
