Awesome stuff, thank you very much with sprinkles on top

I would like to mention the F11 button. It's one of those things that could improve everyone's game in a small way, similar to the compare tool, if someone takes the time to check it out

A few things that stood out

1. Changing from one system to another doesn't work a lot of times
2. It's difficult to see the first gate in a neighbouring constellation, mainly because it's close or out of it's square, which cannot be resized
3. No way to change the width of the entire window - by default it seems unnecessarily wide
4. The system square shows the dscan angle which is awesome, but not the range.
5. There is no way to see a planet and it's moons for example, which would help in finding people undocked in system. A last square below the solar system one would be cool
6. You cannot have more than one region/constellation/solar system in separate squares. <- not 100% about this one
7. No way to move that big window anywhere other than align left or right, which messes up the position of open windows for me
8. There can currently be 4 squares, with no way of changing the number or individual position as far as I know

Would be cool if it was in 3d like the world and system map, but even some tweaks could bring this tool back to life.

After my recent snarky post, I felt obligated to contribute constructively to the spirit of the thread.

I was very happy to see the expanded watchlist. I have some ideas on how to make it better for use in incursion fleets.

Get rid of the 2-3 second lag between when damage begins and when my fleetmates can see it in the watchlist. That lag can lead to a pod when the mission has a lot of sansha battleship DPS on the grid.

I'd like to see the fleet window, when chosen to display as a list, become a watchlist that could:

1) be arranged by drag and drop, be arranged via a right mouse click drop down menu by hiearchy with fleet leadership positions shown to the right, thus not inserting a new line, and arranged by drop down menu according to fleet leadership special assignment (more on this later)

2) be clickable via right mouse click drop down menu to warp to, approach, orbit at, keep at, select for support (not target. more later) assign drones, transfer shields, share cap, rep armor, rep hull , rep that player's drones. Let the computer be smart enough to only include in the drop down menu what is possible for me to do, for example, if I don't have a hull repper, don't show me the option of repping hulls. So frustrating to be asked if I want to do something and when I say yes, to be told I cannot - like rename, change name, or set name (or any of the many different terms which all mean the same thing and need to be standardized) when I am not in station or wherever it can't be done for some reason.

3) allow each fleet member in the leadership positions of FC, WCs & SLs to enter a six position alphanumeric field on the same line as each fleet member under their command to alert the fleet of that fleet member's assignment of additional duties - for example DDD for drone bunny (that would make it so easy to assign drones) and AAA (that would make it so easy to set an orbit distance). As mentioned earlier, allow the drop down menu to sort the fleet so the members with these leadership assigned additional duties will be grouped so fleet members will not have to fumble around finding them when warping into a hot LZ and being busy with many tasks in the first few critical seconds. It would facilitate the logi support by having those with special needs for additional support or attention grouped and when new assignments are made, they will automatically show up on the logi's fleet window in the special needs group. Logis would not have to search for newly assigned special team members to give support or be constantly re-making their warchlists from scratch.

New area - targetting enemy ships for destruction and selecting friendly ships for support. It would have to be an antiquated system that would lump these two categories into the same pile. I would hope that warships built 2500 years in the future would have overcome this major design flaw and have IFF systems (Identify Friend or Foe) be built in as a no-brainer. Even in our own time of right now, IFF is a major part of display systems and emitters are even making their way into the gear of each solitary infantryman so they can be identified by air and space assets including aircraft moving at anywhere from a hover to mach 2+, by drones and even cruise missiles.

Enemy ships and entities targetted for destruction, and friendly ships and entities selected to be interacted with in a non-violent manner (i.e.rep or salvage) need to be in two seperate lists. Keep the targetted for destruction or targetted for hostile interference (webbed, neuted, etc...) to show as they are now and have their own number of available slots. Move the selected for support friendly entities into a vertical list or have the capability to select and display them within the newly instituted fleet window watchlist I described above. Selected for support could be displayed with a light blue background and not be limited in number. Have a non-fleet entities vertical list window for salvage and ships not in the fleet or for all friendly ships when there is no fleet. How do I know they are friendly? I selected them for support and not for targetting or no selection at all. Make it a seperate window so I can move it around as I see fit and don't clutter up the overview with it. Keep the overview for targetted, non-targetted and non-selected ships and entities like non-selected salvage, gates, collidables, etc... The opportunity to shoot a friendly instead of sharing cap by fat fingering F1 instead of F2 is hugely diminished and avionic design engineers will no longer look like the dumbest of the dumb. (Of course I move the modules around once in flight so the mods for hostiles are on the top line and the mods for friendlies are on the second line.)

My PvP experience in fleets goes back to when they were still called gangs, but I think these suggestions would be seen as acceptable in those fleets, too.

Totally new area - Routes shown in the upper left of the screen. Let me right click on the next square in the route to select jump so I can manually fly and still have my overview uncluttered by gates to better accomodate possible new threats/targets.

Fly safe, or not! - now let's see if this will post on the first shot...

You have no idea how I'm thankful for this.

But I would also like to get back to one thing we was talking about earlier and one thing that is in added as a bugreport some time ago.

Quote:
Shift+click on market order in wallet->orders window to open 'fix order price' window.

Can this wish come true? I believe your sticky note with that is still on your screen :]

I wrote about that few times. My request on that on bugreports was timed-out.
Please look on that and feel my pain:

Could u plz plz plz include camera offset for character recustomization in the same way as for ships in space?

Hope you're still watching this topic CCP avatar team :)

I'm glad you like the change... I'm also just glad that my ninja work got ported and all that so we can deliver it to youP

Well... the post-it on my monitor was for "see your own orders in the market", wasn't it? I'll add the other stuff on my list to check out at some point(not promising anything here though).

I'll also suggest the camera offset as a character creation improvement... the camera in the character creator is quite complex, so it might be tricky, but something that can be looked into if it gets the right priority Smile

Friendly reminder that don't forget to add also that neocom icon for compare tool.. saw that the "esc menu short cut" was included in patch notes, but I take that the actually icon is apparently still waiting in graphics departments todo que?

There is a lot of good suggestions in this thread, and I'll probably implement some of them soon(ish).. please understand that we can of course not implement everything you suggest here, there is just not enough time and some of the suggestions would require a lot of work... but I still want to thank you for throwing the ideas out there, I think it's awesome how much you care about EVESmile

Well, this is because of you. You converse with us and if someone ask for something there is almost 100% chance that you will answer for it, not just leave because in your opinion it's not worth answering.
Seriously, would like to see more devs being half communicative as you are. If you don't believe me just read some devblogs comments topics.

Again big bravos for you for very good work and your interest in the matter!

Shame on me.... u're right! But still I have some hope that both stickynotes will be implemented in near future :]

Would be nice, because players like me can't use customization (have to fix window resolution to do that).
Same problem is when walking in CQ. The 'walking pointer' is always on center. Posted as #113660 bugreport. Filtered-timedout.

One other thing that has always been a bit of missing ilnk, was the ability to sort the assets and corp assests by 'Distance'. The number of jumps shows up in the name listing, but there is not a column to sort this by making it difficult to quickly see what is close and what is far away.

Here's hoping that all of the UI improvements work flawlessly and as intended on patch day!!!!!

I guess so many players are craving to get in touch with you devs, since we play the game and know exactly what annoys us. We don't really need a CSM, all we need are the devs who actually communicate with the player base and take those serious. I think these small UI changes are a perfect topic to gain the trust of the players and vice versa, we trusting in CCP's direction.

Keep up the good work, devs!

Love the little things threads. So many good changes and ideas.
As someone who scans a fair bit, I've been wondering if it's possible to sticky the scanning window to the Neocom either permanently or when the system map has been opened.

At the moment the only way to do this seems to be to leave the window open and minimise it to the Neocom. If it could be set to either drop down from the map icon when the system map is opened or be tagged at the bottom of the Neocom it'd be very nice.

Also, since I'm talking about little things, how about an option to remove the input area of a chat window? Or at least the option to make it take up less realestate. At the moment it's about 4 lines in depth. For a few of my windows I keep them hanging off the bottom of the screen as at to reduce the space they take up. If the chat bar were either optional or able to be made much smaller, this'd really be very helpful.

Regardless, keep up the great work.

There is a defect on the sorting, it only affects some players it seems (I have not been able to repro).

Teclador, could you tell me what regional settings you are using on your computer? That might help us solve the issue... as far as we can tell this has nothing to do with my changes P

Yes Cache is cleared some times, via Ingame, Launcher and Outof the Game Method (get that Method some weeks ago during an Petition, see here Clearing_the_cache_and_settings).

Btw, this Issue also occurs on the Skill list, see here: Fail Skill Sortings

Alright, I have a SUPER TEENY TINY LITTLE MINISCULE INCONCEIVABLY Small suggestion :

If you right click on your ship / capacitor you can "Add Location" and open the "create a bookmark" window without needing to go through people and places.

This would save me a bit of trouble with always needing to switch to the people and places tab whenever i need to drop bookmarks. It's available on objects in space for the most part, so why not on your own ship representing your own location?

Thanks!

Where I am.
