Guess that's why they post the character name and the avatar picture in the voting menu along with all that alliance gobledy **** that should have no bearing on an out of game team right?. I figure they would just stick to the real name and use a real picture since it's so antithetical to the game and such legitimate business.

Well when they post the election results after the vote is tallied, they do in fact list the individuals real name as well as their country of origin.

But regardless, that still doesn't support the OP's point.

All that information is available in the voting menu as well. It really shouldn't matter much but they provide it none the less.

yes. CCP post character name and avatars and clearly expects the avatars to travel to iceland too. To bad the connection between new eden and earth was severed all those years ago. Oh well.

The more you talk about how bad a man Darius is, the more I like him.

So nothing of what's presented disqualifies him. Also, the question remains: how does he not represent the player base?

You seem to be confused about the meaning of the word paradox too. Seeing an issue as important while at the same time view the current rules governing the handling of that issue sub-optimal is not a paradox.
But that's not what you said, is it? You said you didn't care about the rules. At the same time, you say you care about eligibility — i.e. what the rules regulate. This is indeed a paradox since caring about one inherently means you care about the other.

Why should we as a playerbase be happy to see our subscription money fund this kind of behavoiur?
Because it's what the playerbase wants (should he get elected).

Spoiler: it is.
No. It's not a separate entity because its existence is completely dependent on the game, and the shape of the game is (somewhat) dependent on the CSM. Separating the two would mean the CSM is meaningless.

Woaw now, I was under the impression that you held the belief that Eve and real life were very much not the same thing. Which is it? I will not stand for flip foppery.

If thats how you feel, fine. We disagree. And i'm pretty sure most players dont like to see their subscription money thrown out of the window funding free trips to iceland for non-working real life trolls like this d**ebag. Including the rest of CSM 6.

After all, you are not who I appeal to.

Gaming and tech fields in general need more females. I suppose we'll have to wait for the men in those areas to stop being such creepers and people to stop acting like girls can't do math first.

You know full well that the chances of that happening are slim.

Vote for somebody else then? I mean, isn't that the entire point of holding an election?

In RL this would be highly illegal....unless Darius adjusted the statement with "My friends will give your friends free plex. Can I depend on your vote?". See the difference. This is what your RL candidates do. In my example, the candidate never directly promised anything for votes. Instead, the candidate's friends gave the voter's friends something of value that in no way were implied to be purchasing votes. And then the candidate went on, in a completely unrelated direction, to ask if the voter would vote for the candidate.

But, this is Eve. CCP have not defined acceptable/unacceptable behavior. As such, there is nothing against EULA's or TOS's going on. And this is why voting in Eve is completely broken.

The example above is also why voting in RL is completely broken.

Don't ban me, bro!

Last female on the CSM was ol' Ankhmorporkia or whatever her name was. The Queen of Spoons.

Female EVE players might not be the best choice, since it usually takes a VERY aggressive one to survive the horrible sexism of the playerbase.

Inappropriate signature removed, CCP Phantom.

May I be among the stampeding hordes of responders reminding you - that's what you get for selling your vote.
What? They only praised the scam and told you "That's how life is?" Gee. Imagine that.

This might just be the funniest thing I have seen in a while.

For those who don't know, the OP is a petty corp thief. This is a real case of what goes around...

I'm going to send a hearty congratulations to Darius for this one. Not only did he scam a vote, he also succesfully manipulated this poor fool into making a forum post about it. Now that takes skill!
