Tonight I shed a tear (minecraft thread)

For the past week I have been having issues logging into minecraft. Not the logging in part but staying in for more than a minute. Each time I do log in I cause the server to crash, which of course needs to be reset by the server admin, and I promptly crash again. Kept getting a Java timeout issue
We tried many things such as reinstalling both clients and server, as well as reinstalling Java. I searched the internets for an answer and found vague attempts spread across the board. One thread suggested having the admin delete the afflicted person. Some hinted at forwarding ports. Some made mention to update video drivers or to push our network adapters to 512. One claimed that all that could be done was to make a new map. That marked a dark day for 5 people
So I said goodbye to my mighty keep, it's towering walls encompassing a small box canyon, wherein held a village raised by my own 2 digital hands. It's 16 block high piston doors that kept intruders at bay. My great throne room with it's red and glowstone carpet that led to my mighty throne and the pillar of lava behind it. My rail system that spanned to all the other players, left to blow away like dust in the wind. Almost a years worth of work, gone in the blink of an eye
And I'm not the only one feeling the heartbreak right now. The mighty Arabian nation in the desert with it's expansive tiered walls reaching the oceans waters. The colorful and impressive Eastern nation to the south. The floating keep of the west. The great pyramid with it's 50 block tall Egyptian statues guarding it's entrance. We had to leave our homes because I became corrupted

So my friend and I wandered and sought out the new world, fresh with all of the recent upgrades. Our first priority was to make a sanctuary for the others when they come later on. After the first night he set out east as I stayed behind to gather a few more supplies before my long trek. On the second day I headed north, where I traveled for a good portion of the day before finding myself in the midst of a great rain forest, it's hulking trees towering over me, vines that I could climb on. And that is when it struck me, I shall build here, in the trees! So I set about connecting 3 trees with the wood I had gathered and built a 2 level home, safe from the monsters below. I think when I set out again I will use the leaves to hide my home from foreign eyes

Once I feel comfortable in my new abode I will create a mine shaft on the next hill over and its entrance will resemble a giant skull of doom. And the stone that I yield from this shaft will be used to create a great Aztec inspired pyramid that will rise up above the trees themselves and it will hold the entrance to the dark of foreboding underworld. But the others should beware, fr it will be laden with traps and secret entrances around every corner

I also learned 2 other things from tonight's venture. 1) Zeppelin mod is freaking awesome but 2) you can't use it in SMP Sad I really stayed behind at the safe house because I was going to build my little sky ship and mock my friend with it after I realized the mod was client side, but I kept crashing when I tried to build the control box. Good thing I started with that or else people would be asking me why there is a boat on dry land in the middle of the forest. Well at least I still have single player, where I have set up camp in the side of a cliff complete with a hangar for my wonderful sky ships, granted I don't fall through them and helplessly watch the ship fly away again.
