How to get into incursions

Hi there, I have a tengu and used to use a drake, but I just kinda tagged along with a friend a while back. Now I want to do them again but I am not finding info on them that well. I am currently in a corp that I don't want to leave but I would like to learn the ropes on how to do them so I can start doing them as ops in my corp. Anyways if someone could help me with some info that would be great.

I doubt anyone will give you a full brief here knowing that your fleet will then come and eat into their profits.

Your best bet is to find an incursion fleet that will take you with them. You can then after a few completed sites, make notes as to the spawn triggers and such.

Go join up in some random VG shield fleets with a HAM or HM Tengu. Dnt use a drake, thatw as so 6 months ago. After 10 or so youll get the hang of em...they;re incredibly easy.

If you want to get into incursion fleets just join the channel "btl pub", make sure to let them know go petition blizzard (the corp) sent you and you'll learn a lot about incursions and how they are run.

Hehe, true. Still, surely you aren't using NPC corp alts to run incursions?

The new war dec mechanics should have interesting repercussions for shiny incursion corps either way, if they truly do remove dec shield mechanics and reduce the effectiveness of corp hopping then incursions might actually end up being quite a bit of fun Lol

Yes it will, Didn't they state the war cost would be totalled by how big the alliance is, If so, Just make tons of trial account/characters and flood your corp.

True, but they also claimed it will not count trial accounts. So even if you triple alliance size by forcing all members to use all their character slots the effect would (probably) be negligible. They're also adding a cost to corp hopping, and not allowing players to leave then rejoin during an ongoing war.

I'm just hoping that this forces incursion corps, and other high profile high sec targets, to use mercenaries or the new surrender mechanism rather than just hop corp or dec shield.

If it works out well it might even convince me to come back to HS for a while Smile And if it works really well I wouldn't even mind them toning down the planned incursion nerfs a little, high sec with functional war dec mechanics would certainly qualify as a pretty risky base of operations in my book.

Because only real pros use Hail.

*EDIT: Not that I'm saying 1400 DPS is impossible out of a mach, with a bit of officer you can get considerably more than that. Doing it with hail and heavy drones is pretty counterproductive though.

Yes because the guy you are shooting is going to be rite in your optimal, Your drones are going to be on top of him for the entire fight, In theory you are not doing 1500 dps, Hail? What if he is shield tanked?

Bring that to a OTA i will out "DPS" You with my rail vindi, It makes me sad that people think high DPS wins the day. its how effective you can apply the DPS.

Usable, maybe, but a 20km falloff reduction and 0.02 reduction to tracking is rarely going to translate into optimal.
