Wild and Free Narcotics presents The Smuggling Chronicles

The Smuggling Chronicles Part One

Introduction

“Once we began transporting these boosters around our home region of the Forge, we realized we weren’t happy just simply smuggling drugs in our neighborhood... Like any drug smuggler, we wanted to push our supplies and product as far into the universe as we can. So we began to smuggle our product across the borders. Long, rigorous and dangerous trips that often made us question our willpower. But we pushed on, pushing our product from the fringes of low security spaces to the heavily regulated empire spaces of the Caldari... We became criminals, but it didn’t stop us. We were in this for good..." - Annette Bonaparte

Dear Journal,

My name is Annette Bonaparte. Last remaining member of the Bonaparte tribe of the Jin Mei. Me and my husband Chiyeung Bonaparte have been smuggling boosters and drugs for a few months. We started at our home area of the Forge, while pushing our boosters we had received in Jita. I still remember the eyes of the pilots in my home system when I showed them what I had for sale. They were always wide eyed and filled with awe. Most of them had never done a illegal thing in their lives, nonetheless be in the presence of narcotics and contraband. Ironically, they were my first customers, and now they are hooked.

We made a good amount of ISK and we were able to upgrade our main form of smuggling from a Rifter to a Cloaked Ares. However, our accumulating wealth was deemed suspicious by a few CONCORD officers. This was our fault for flaunting our wealth so publicly, but who could resist?

It wasn’t until three months ago that me and Chiyeung had to leave the Forge permanently. We were boxing up our boosters we just had received from C4 and various dealers, when suddenly a blast erupted through our first door of our POS. We looked outside and saw a CONCORD officer blasting away at our door. “We know you have illegal contraband Bonaparte. Give them up and we’ll reduce your charge”, shouted the officer.

There was no way that we were going to be caught with well over 1 billion in illegal contraband. Along with the drugs, we had several slaves that we had stored away. Me and Chiyeung decided that we had to blast our way out. We wouldn’t fight the officer, but we had to run. We took the bulk of our narcotics and threw them in the storage of our Ares. We called in a good buddy of ours from Black Frog to be posted in the next system. Since we couldn’t fit our whole narcotics collection in the Ares, we decided that I would fly the Ares and Chiyeung would fly the Rifter. We split the narcotics and we would both use our Cloaks once we were out of the POS.

We quickly jumped into our ships and flew out. The CONCORD officer issued some sort of warning, but I wasn’t paying attention enough to hear it. My goal was to get out and cloak as soon as possible. I turned on Microwarp drive and overloaded it. As soon as I did, I activated my cloaking device. In a few seconds, we were free. I looked to my right where Chiyeung was, but he was gone. I smiled because I knew he was cloaked. I sat back a little back and I let my Ares make its way out of my POS bubble, beyond the CONCORD officer. We were home free. The officer attempted to shoot random volleys in the vicinity of the bubble. It was a little too late as we were about to engage in warp.

A few seconds later, we were in warp to the next gate. We jumped on contact and we met up with our friend from Black Frog on the Isanamo gate. He opened his freighter entrance, while me and Chiyeung both flew into it. We were safe now. Black Frog promised to deliver us far away from the Forge region. Me and Chiyeung both understood that we had a new life ahead of us. A very different life.

Hmmm.....not bad. I'd change the CONCORD officer bit. CONCORD is in charge of capsuleer punishment and offenses, they are also not in charge of capsuleers' bank accounts. They wouldn't go after smugglers unless it was in CONCORD sovereignty space. And they would not do it at a POS in the Forge. The empire factions though would send troops after a major smuggling operation.
